Is there a really simple quick'n'dirty guide for making SPK from scripts/mods already made that don't come SPK'd?
Organizing script packages and installing/removing them is such a pain manually because I have to keep separate folders with all of the scripts/mods so that I even know *what* to remove.

X games - addictive as heck. Always something to come back to.

In response to a Linux version, he may be working on a Mac version too.Cycrow wrote:the spk librarys are currently compatable with linux, and i will release linux versions of them.
it wont be the full plugin manager, but they can do everything the plugin manager can do, just without the gui
eventually i will most liky build a linux gui for it as well

I am having an odd issue. I can install scripts (such as the cheat script 1.4) with no issues. When I install ships (XSPs), they do not show up in game at all. They are not at any stations, and I cannot spawn them with the cheats script. It is as if they do not exist. I am running X3 2.5 with the XTM mod. The ships I was trying to install did indicate that they were XTM compatible. Has anyone here had a similar issue?

this is most likly due to you not use the plugin manager mod file in the game, but using the xtm one instead, which wont contain the new ships.
what you need to do is on the game startup screen, select the xtm mod, then open the plugin manager and close it again, this will create the new mod files, based on the one you had selected, ie (XTM)
then when you run the game again, make sure the plugin manager mod is selected, as it should now contain both xtm and the added ships.
this only applies to X3: Reunion, it should just work normally on TC.
this is also only a temporary solution, and will be fixed to work like it does for TC

Hi,
maybe i just plain stupid but is it not possible to use vanilla save games in the modified version?
UPDATE: I also found out that my save games disappear once i switch back from modified to vanilla but are there when i play it in modified.
Plus i usually used only the cheat package and had no problems running it in the older version of the PM...weird stuff happening
thanks for any help

An update to my post above and some interesting findings.
I finally realized what happened to my save-games and thought u might want to know what happened.
I know i had version 2.5 installed as well as an older version of the PM and the cheat pack running. I then wanted to get the improved boarding mod(with the other required mods and scripts). Because i needed the new PM i downloaded and installed the PM and installed the boarding mod.
Now here is the strange thing. Once installed, my in-game version changed from 2.5 to 2.0. and my save games stopped working. Only with a clean update ( 1.x to 2.5 ) the save-games worked again. Now everything works fine so no need for any help anymore. Still interesting. Do you know what might have caused it???
Greetings,
Vaan

Answer My Question Someone
how do I replace my vanilla savegames? I used a script and now I don't want to, but my savegames are gone? I can see them in My Docs, but where do they go?

Re: Answer My Question Someone
if you are using the plug-in manager, the save games will be available depending with what mode you are running the game (Settings --> Mode --> Vanilla or Modified)ashkrowe wrote:how do I replace my vanilla savegames? Well I tried to get ships to work on a fresh install on a different computer, and they still don't work. It must be something I am doing wrong. This is the install order:
1) Fresh X3: Reunion install from DVD.
2) Update 1.0-2.5
3) Bonus package
4) Plugin Manager 1.2 RC4 (was using stable version on the other computer)
5) LV Cheat Scripts 1.4 via Package Manager
6) XSP ships via Package Manager
7) Start the game launcher
Select "PackageManager" form the mod selector
When the game loads, the cheat scripts work fine. None of the added ships show up. Just in case it matters, the OS on both of the computers is Windows 7 64bit.

Ok, I think I found a bug.
I had some trojan enter my system while X3TC was minimised. Well it tried to enter it was shot down though after a good five minutes. Because X3TC was in Seta 10x the load was chuggin my system. I had to reset so I reopened TC saved and quit. Then turned off my system. Now all my SPK's have disappeared from the plugin managers main menu. The scripts are still installed however.

There is no bonus pack for X3TC yet, can you link to what that package is?strekship wrote:Well I tried to get ships to work on a fresh install on a different computer, and they still don't work. It must be something I am doing wrong. This is the install order:
