[MOD] No Fog Fake Patch X3AP

This mod removes the fog from all sectors.

It does not alter view distance or any other background items...just the fog.






So to use:

Installation:

Place the X3AP.No.Fog.cat/dat into: Steam\SteamApps\common\x3 terran conflict\addon
Rename the X3AP.No.Fog.cat/dat to the next highest number in your main X3TC directory.
If your last numbered cat/dat is 02.cat/02.dat then this mod would be 02.cat/03.dat and so on.

Have fun.

Zip file contains:
addon/types/tbackgrounds and a readme text file.

NOTE:

No problemo, trying to sort it out, it's gonna take a few days though, some of the code doesn't want to play nice in AP

Anyway trial and error will get it right in the end hopefully

I installed this, and it seems to have removed both the fog AND the stars, too (at least in the two sectors I have been in so far). I installed as a fake patch (x3 terran conflict>addon>06 cat and dat respectively).

I do prefer not having fog, but I don't want to lose the stars, too.

Anyone have any advice on troubleshooting?

It only removes the fog nothing else.

The stars are background images so look at any larger mods you have installed to see if they changed sector backgrounds.

Are there perhaps some sectors where Egosoft doesn't have any stars created b/c the fog is usually thick enough in that sector to obscure it?

Some sectors may have a coloured distance as a background for the sectors that are heavily foggy.

Might be that they don't have any stars at all, no idea tbh.
