Oh ok sorry, I thought it was a 'general' question.

I think it's possible, drones can fly between capitals and stations so.. Why not ship to ship ? (And it could be a really good feature, absolutely !)

It would add a bit more immersion I think, having a ship that is say off in deeper space and needing restocked with drones, weapons, fuel or whatever and you could have a smaller cargo oriented ship able to drop off what they need and have it transferred ship to ship. This could work out for say a Hauling ship and a mining ship. The miner works out the ore and a hauler ship carries the ore from the mining area to a station for sale so that the mining ship doesn't need to keep going back and forth.

Thanks for the mod, I put my little capped fighter on 'patrol' when I do defense missions and seeing him shoot down enemies (which surprise surprise he doesn't do in vanilla) is a great feeling.

He seems to slow to a stop when I put him on 'escort me' though - is this a known issue, or maybe something I'm doing wrong? He springs back to life if I put him out and in my squad, or tell him to patrol again.

I have other mods planned that will take use of mechanics along these liens.

Escort me is a known problem, it works for some people, not others - same for patrol.

Escort me is a known problem, it works for some people, not others - same for patrol.
I've actually noticed that as well. I was attacked earlier today by a group of fighters and my frigate was sitting there as usual. I told it to escort me, it destroyed one target, and pretty much froze after that. Had to give him a different manual command just to get escort to work again to kill the rest of the enemies.

Seems that scripting breaks after one target is destroyed. Not sure if you could fix that, or if Egosoft has to actually do some work on their end :wink:

I think the escort script just bugs out after 10 minutes or so.
Had a quick look at it and the other AI scripts that are supposed to take
care of your fleet and it's so riddled with stuff flagged as 'to do' it's hardly surprising nothing works as intended. Still, why bother making sure at least the player can enjoy his capital assets right? Incredible!

Meanwhile I have modded myself triple the amount of enemy capital ships escorted by actual fighter wings (as opposed to just 1 or 2 fighters popping up which don't stand a chance against anything) and it already helps a lot enjoying the game.

Good news is the Xenon Branch9 destroyer actually DOES shoot.
It just takes EONS for it to shoot at you.
It engages enemy AI just fine.

On a sidenote: Ordered my Galactica to escort me and it took off with full afterburner into Xenon-Space :lol: Guess it must have had a bad day in space too.

Thats the second report ive gotten of ships randomly charging off into distant space, im not sure whats up with that but im not sure its anything i did... lol

I'm also wondering if its like doable to copy-rape the stuff out of the NPC owned Capital ships AI-scripts to those relevant for the player so we actually get a fleet-worthy battle experience.

Obviously the NPC's have no issue whatsoever (well..ignoring the fact there is no collission detection or avoidance for Capital Ships) going toe to toe
and I just have to admit I'm kinda graving for a similar experience with my own -currently worthless pieces of polished junk metal- fleet.

NPC's are actually running the same scripts, however i think there many be one or two attack scripts i havent linked in yet

On hold until after engineers. Battle states were highly experimental to being with.
