How will Plugin Manager react to new install?

Post by TarlGor »

I have a modded (XRM, etc.) game going now. Used Plugin Manager light (version 1.30) to install some of the scripts, etc. I'm on XP. Everything is working great. Plugin manager is NOT located in the same location as X3tc.

However, I'd like to copy back into my xtc game folder a saved setup that does not have XRM. That saved game folder set is just plain vanilla and I want to run it again real quick to check how much better, if any, the plain vanilla game will run. I'm experiencing a bit of lag in the XRM game : )

So, the plan is I'd move the current files/folders out of the game folder and then move the old ones back in.

What I need to know is how plugin manager will react to that? Once I make the switch should I just run plugin manager so it can "review" the new current game. And it will be happy?

Then, later, when I copy the XRM game back to the game folder, and run plugin manager again to find all the new stuff, will it be happy?

Or, do I have to reinstall plugin manager each time I move my games back and forth?

Hope all that made some sense : )

Great tool by the way. Much appreciated.

Installer Crashes when installing to X3TC

Post by lionheart_001 »

This is for those that load up the Cycrow Installer and find it crashing each time.

I just found out why my Addon Manager was crashing each time. My VC++ was corrupt from a Windows update.

To fix this, for anyone that is having this issue, run the Installer of the latest version from page one of this thread. WHen it shows you the options list, if you scroll down, you will see 2 more additional options. One is to turn on VC++. In doing this, the Cycrow installer will check the C++ system and if it isnt working, will turn on the Windows C++ auto repair system. When it says you must turn off the Cycrow installer, click the 'ignore' button and continue. When its all done, you must reboot.

When rebooted and running, your new Cycrow installer should run perfect.

Post by icEPiraka »

For those Mac users interested, with Cycrow's permission, I have created a Mac port of the Plugin Manager for download (see link in sig).

modified mode problem

Post by rics_uk »

Hi All
Im sure this question is buried on here someplace, but for want of searching I'm gonna ask again.

After playing out X3TC for some time I decided to play a modified game for some fun.

script editor is active, and profile has ** modified ** tag at the baseline .

BUT - when I try to load in .SPK files through the manager I get an error that says I'm in vanilla mode...

tried everything I know, and tried a bunch of scripts (the one I REALLY want to mess with is capture stations }:)

help would be very much appreciated

I'm not sure which version of the Plugin Manager you're using but under settings there should be a "mode' option, make sure it's set to modified and not vanilla.

Finally was able to download the latest version... dam dialup really sucks.. cannot wait to get broadband back again this spring...

Anyhow, I am still having the exact same issue with EMP items and listings in the docks..

I hate to bring this up but the ship installer for .xsp ships is still problematic also...

Now here is the wierd part. If I install some .XSP ships and play things seem ok (other than the EMP issue). BUT IF I add some mods as fake patches THEN install .XSP ships using the installer, everything loads and run BUT I am unable to dock at almost all stations AND it seems to affect the missions generation including the main storyline.

Now if I install the .XSP ships THEN add the other mods I want to use as fake patches AFTER exiting the installer tool, it works!

Really wierd issue... took me hours to find and reproduce what and how to get past it.

basically the steps are:

1) Load installer tool
2) install ALL SPK scripts you want to use.
3) exit installer tool, copy all NON-spk scripts manually to X3 dirs manually.
4) load installer tool
5) install .XSP ships via tool
6) exit installer tool
7) copy and rename any mod files you want to use, i.e. cat/dat 15,16,17 etc.

load game. BUT once you start a game, if you even load the installer tool or make a change, the game crashes on load if you try to load a save OR revert back to unable to dock at most stations again if you start a new game...

As long as do not mess with anything once you get things working, it works.

Holy carp! Thank you, thank you thank you thank you! *chuckle* I've been trying to work around this for weeks now.

(I'd normally have trimmed this quote considerably, but on the off chance someone else encounters this issue, (or I manage to lose my bookmark, likely), the info will also be here and complete.)

Gratuitous search terms: XRM TShips Merge XSP MooseUpNorth Bookmark

[Edited to add:] *sigh* This _sort of_ works. Yeah, you can land places, but the XRM added ships will all be mammoths, including entire ka'aak clusters of mammoths and very sloooow pirate raids.

Hi

I'm having a bit of a problem with the plugin manager (v.1.30). Specifically my problem is with uninstalling it. Whenever I try and remove the program a windows message comes up saying that I don't have the right administrator rights to remove the program. I am the only user on the PC and I have the only account which is an admin account. My operating system is windows 7 64 bit. Thankyou for any help that anyone can give me with this problem.

1.30 had a bugged uninstaller. If you install the latest version, u can use the uninstaller on that to remove it.

althou, u have to run the uninstaller directly, for some reason it doesn't work properly from the add/remove programs in vista/7

Is there a mirror for the download? I installed the earlier version under win 7 and can't uninstall, and the d/l link is timing out.

i THINK you can trick it by placing the X3 TC.exe in the albion folder and say your install path is there gonna have to try it.

Edit: Übersetzt mit Google Translator:
Moin also.
I hope it's okay if I write in German, because my English is not so sparkling.

Today I found a way to bring Cycrows SPK cheat script to run at AP.

The Spk files can be unpacked with the current Modmanager. .
(Right click on the SPK file and then click Explore in the top bar select "extract all")

If you unzipped the folders into the addon folder, (supplemented script T and perhaps other folders) you have to turn the game editor ingame on. (What I mean is, i think, on page one) and then into the control menu in the penultimate tab at the bottom of a hotkey assigned .

That's what you have to, because the game lacks foreign riders under autopilot.
Otherwise seem to be working all the major functions of the script.

Whether that works also for ships, knows I do not, I need to test it.

As always, you make a backup copy of the addon folder, there are scripts that make the game silly and then it may no longer work.

I hope this will help you.

EMP *should* technically work if you use the plugin manager generated on. As it simply adds the additional values on the end of an existing one.

but i will make sure it is fully compatable when i release the next version of the plugin manager
