"Vanilla" means the game, as installed from the media or Steam, optionally including authorised expansion material such as the Bonus Pack or Steam Summer Camp DLC for X3TC.
Coordinates are generally presented the way they appear down the bottom right of the map window in game (i.e. x,y,z), note that when the window 1st opens you are seeing the X (left-right) & Z (top-bottom) axes, Y is (away/in-towards/out) with respect to you the player, hitting [Home] (IIRC, may be [Insert] instead) switches the Z & Y axes in the presentation.
Also note that coordinates can be confusingly presented as many don't bother noting whether they're referring to 10m or 10km.
The 0,0,15 coordinate you mention is presumably 0m, 0m, 15km which is to say 15000m up from the center of the sector as presented when you 1st open the map.

Ok. So I fail at reading (strangely).
Looking at our last 2 posts, I also think I maybe fail at explaining.
It might be clearer if I describe the coordinate system in relation to gate positions.
Consider Empire's Edge (spoilered for anyone who hasn't found them all yet):
This means that the (0,0,1.5) coordinate I misread earlier is 1.5km (=1500m) North of the center of the sector, whereas up would be more accurately used to describe the point at coordinate (0,1.5,0). <not a dig at Marvin, I just realised upon reading his post that mine could've & should've been clearer, though Marvin obviously interpreted it correctly>

Even if it does run out (something I need to find out how to do), I haven't seen any posts anywhere indicating that the Station-class asteroid respawn has been nerfed (if you rubble a Station-class asteroid with a Mobile Drilling System or Hornet, it should respawn at the same yeild but a different location within the sector within a few days, AIUI).
Personally I plan to try & collect all the starting "debris" at some point because my PC is only P4 at 3.0Ghz

Getting the money with Nividium does actually take more effort than just using a cheat script, it also doesn't preclude uploading your stats or getting Steam achievements.
Also, the problem with the cheat script is that once you have installed, there is always a temptation to use it in other ways.
& If the crew at Egosoft considered it an exploit they wouldn't have made breaking the respawn harder a few patches ago.
This is a sandbox game, everyone has the potential derive enjoyment from it in different ways, the Nividium "exploit" is just the result of an unofficial "Think" mission.
& if Nividium is problem, just mobile mine the other minerals, they were affected by the same respawn upgrade, & they actually do trade into the economy.
Finally I would note that my preferred method of selling Nividium isn't "Distress Sales" to Shipyards, or "Opportunity Sales" on deliver TS missions, but to stock it at the Hub, EQDs & Trading Stations (even better, if playing modified, install the Paranid Paranid Nividium Processing Plant or Nividium Mine scripts, & offload it at Max rather than Avg-1).

This is a list of net profit per cargo unit per ship. yes you got 128M total when you sold it, but you paid 28 million for the ship in the first place. The list takes the theoretical max you could get for this ship full of niv and subtracts what you paid for it to give the net gain. the number after the name is the net gain per cargo unit.jc-desk1 wrote:here's another - fill up a tl near a navidium site , then send that baby to fill up a hulk tl in a shipyard, then sell the freakin hulk off. guess what I got for one of those you might ask? 128M/cr!Mohahahahaha

another question, what does this nividium look like ?
all i can see is asteroids
I have no idea what im looking for, well, other then nividium. But i dont know what it looks like. Egosoft need to make it look different then ordinary asteroids, like a different color or something, better yet, a BIG sign saying " Nividium found here " lol. Its either im just having trouble finding it, or its right in front of me but i cant tell the difference between an ore asteroid or nividium asteroids, or my game dont have any
I dont want to have to resort to cheats to make some decent credits either

CHEATERS
I've seen two posts in this thread recently talking about Niv mining as cheating, and some pilots apologizing for it.
Niv mining is part of the game! Egosoft could have taken it out long ago, and they haven't. So some people get to decide who is cheating and who isn't. I guess it is fine if they use it, but if other people use it, then they are cheating. Or some pilots don't use it and get to decide that anyone who does is a cheater.
Niv mining is a decision for the individual pilot. Let them decide. And after somebody has decided that Niv mining is cheating, how many other things are cheating. Can the same ones decide for us? And call us cheaters if we decide differently?
These recent posts calling pilots cheaters are in the Billionaires Club. Do you know that most of this thread is about different parts of Niv mining?

Eh I don't think anyone would call Niv mining cheating, the cheating part here perhap refer to the exploitation of you can indefinitely milk a single roid.Bill Huntington wrote: I've seen two posts in this thread recently talking about Niv mining as cheating, and some pilots apologizing for it.
Niv mining is part of the game!
That's said I'm not calling anyone cheating, but if you want a reason of why other might think so, that would be one.

That kind of reasoning is always very slippery.Mightysword wrote: Eh I don't think anyone would call Niv mining cheating, the cheating part here perhap refer to the exploitation of you can indefinitely milk a single roid.
For example, mines also milk same roid indefinitely. Bottom line is - it's part of game mechanics. Take it or leave it.

The problem is passive mining provide a stream of small income over time and mobile mining is meant to be a one time big wallop. This exploit just makes it a stream of big wallops.
But hey, on your same token, it's SP so you shouldn't care what other people calling your game right? Making a tantrum over people calling it cheating means you care as much as the people doing it. Don't like their comment? Don't read it. Take it or leave it, right?

Re: Info
This game has many dubious and controversial practices that are called upon as imbalanced, unfair even cheating, yet, everybody seems to play it again and again as maniacs. From certain ships (springy) missiles that can falsely track other missiles, methods of selling (to EqDs via M5), game mechanics of boarding, apologizing that is supposedly too easy, rep system that can be easily "abused", SETA overnight that is "unfair" and ultimately, mobile mining and nvidium exploiting. Well guess what? All of mentioned practices are legitimate part of game and developers deliberately left them for player to sort out, giving player (too?)much of freedom over way that he wants to play his game. Which was brave move indeed, was it smart move also?Mightysword wrote: But hey, on your same token, it's SP so you shouldn't care what other people calling your game right? I read thousands of post here about position of fabs, production, goods that sell well, sector to train traders and all kind of economical and profitable endeavours, and just handful posts of nvidium mining. How can this be, are all that people crazy? Or why they use fleet of battleships and all those Mx classes when all they need in this game is single M8 with supporting fab and good fighter? All this proves IMHO that developers were right about leaving all that freedom to players, it was risky move but it ultimately made their game even better.
Nvidium mining is a great way of getting money for player that doesn't want or need the supporting industry or fleet of traders. There are players who don't like economical aspects, why should they be forced to deal with selling and trading if they don't want to? This way game is yours to play (or not play) the way you see fit.

thanks Bill
yeah, i've seen similar posts myself. i dont see people as cheating if they use this nividium to make credits. afterall, u have to mine for it still. Therefor, u have to work for your credits. Cheating is when u use "Thereshallbewings" and use the "put credits into players account cheat" cheat! Which, if im not mistaken was made by Cycrow. And if people use that "cheat", then it means they cant upload their stats. Like u said Bill, Egosoft wouldve taken it out ages ago, im fact, if it was cheating, then it wouldn't have been put in the first place. These people that are calling others cheaters just because they use the niv mining, need to stop. Everyone has their own reasons why they do whatever it is they do, weather it be using cheats, or using niv mining. Might be because they work long hours, they come home, and have 10 mins on the game, so they want to build up as much as they can in that 10 mins. Just as an example. But, its not nice being called a cheater if it is not in fact cheating. I could go on bout this, but i wont, and dont want to upset anyone:)
