This thread is for discussing problems you are encountering running XTM. If you are having problems installing the mod, or think you have found a bug, post in this thread

If you simply want to talk about how to play XTM, discuss a mission, or have a question about the new ships please post in the [XTM - GAMEPLAY] thread.

Why 2 threads? The shear volume of new posts related to this mod made containing it to one thread unworkable. With 2 threads we've split the discussions into two distinct types; those who want to talk about playing XTM and those who need technical help getting XTM to run properly. hopefully these two threads will better server the needs of the community.

Egosoft XTM Download Thread
Egosoft host the download but do not support it, you should check the Xtended Mod forums to check for new versions and dedicated support

To install XTM you need to download both of the following:

(Last updated: 07.08.2016. X2-Illuminatus) Outdated links: You will need XScript Installer by Cycrow to install the scripts packages, and an archive utility such as winrar or 7zip to extract the XTM.7a.rar

Extract the XTM.7a.rar in to the X3Reunion directory, where X3.exe is located. Then use the XScript Installer to install the scripts package and the patch.

Xtended.... docking problems

Hi, installed the xtended version and I have completed the fetch and carry mission, but I or any of my ships cannot dock at any space port/dock or at the dyson sphere. Is this normal or have I done something wrong?

hey ya'll Every time i download the xtm core files and i extract them from the rar. to my game thr dat. files and sound track files are corupted. It does not matter where i down load from, can any one help please?

When i start a new game in any of the stock starts all of stations are duubbled same with all the ships any help and how do i get the bbs about the sector for sale

The game crashes

Hi

Excellent mod, but there're some problems. If installed after XFP (Fusion Xperiment) mod, the only thing left is it's multiple scripts, it's kind of working, very beautiful and so on, but there's a message in the beginning (ie after each saved game load) that Ashley's XXL fabs were not installed correctly, and also the game crashes when entering Ashley's Wisdom sector, and also it crashes when destroying some capital ships, at the moment of destruction. XFP mod worked without any single problem, so I guess it's not the computer.

What do you think could be the problem?

What is wrong. Simple, read the installation faq at the top of this thread. It says:
2. Be sure you have no other mods installed in your X3Reunion\mods folder.

Every so often I get a file not found pop up box and the game crashes. This only occurs with the mod and not with the plain vanilla game. No other scripts or mods installed. XTM patched to latest version.

Your post in the gameplay thread suggests that you have EMP installed as well as the version in Xtended. If so, this may be the cause of your problems.

I think there is something in the XTM forums about problems when EMP is installed with Xtended. I would suggest removing EMP and reinstalling XTM.

I suppose this is a bug: im playing the flight leader start and i have found 3 terran shipyards but all are in the same place as the equipment dock place. all 3 shipyards have no shields and no hull, cant be docked at, and if the equipment dock is destroyed(cheat script) then it is as well :gruebel: . this poses a problem since i have no access 2 any of the terran ships :cry: .

That isn't a bug at all--it's a restriction due to a hard-coded limit on the number of shipyards in game. Just dock at the equipment dock and then activate "Use shipyard facility" from the command console of the docked ship.

Not any more that was removed when I patched XTM to 0.72.

I checked that out but it says "auto pilot activated" but gives me no other options not even from the trade screen. this isnt really a problem tho because i can just use the trading system extension 2 trade w/ it which is what i did in the vanilla anyway.

Converting Vanilla X3 Savegames to XTM compatible

Is there any way to convert a vanilla X3 savegame to be XTM compatible?

I have heard rumours in other threads but have not yet found anything that will do the conversion.

you really should start over from scratch though.

because some sectors are no long inhabitable without a decent defense fleet. You probably will spend most of your time trying to defend bad factory placements...
Please fix the AI Egosoft! I'm sick of losing ships(doesn't matter what class) when they fly into what they are attacking! This occurs even if the object is stationary and doesn't have any protrusions.(Like a pirate base) It's just sad, and it totally ruins the entire concept of the series!
