Ah, thanks for the quick reply.

I was a tad worried when I didn't see any named RRF.
I should have read the readme as well for that lol.

I'll let it run a while and see what I'm up against before I load IR or MBRR to test, but so far I've seen enemy battle groups wipe out any Military sent at them, it usually takes an age before the military realise they need to send bigger ships.

No idea how I'm going to get a trade empire started yet as those battle groups always have heavy hitters in the form of Cap ships O_o .

Early days yet though :)

There are several areas that are fairly safe - top and bottom left of the map in particular. Basically steer clear of areas bordering xenon, yaki or pirate sectors. Then you only have the khaak to worry about.

@Argo I'll give you some advice for a trading empire,
Spoiler
Show
the first factory you want to build is a laser tower one, or two ;)
That can be used to protect many sectors, and are very useful.
The place I suggest building one in, is Family Whi, as if you buy a split station, all the resources are very close and cheap.
Of course, it is possible, I've given you this advice before, I've given it a lot

Paul I was trying to figure this out in the IR thread but I am thinking it isn't IR. I am using both XRM and IR and I took over a few pirate sectors and a xenon sector. You know, the area around dannas chance, nopileos memorial, xenon 101. Well xenon ships keep spawning in xenon 101, i guess that is normal since there is no sector suppression script?

The main issue is in nopileos memorial a pirate fleet keeps jumping in i guess. I am not sure if they are just spawning there or jumping in. When i was in sector i saw a flash which normally means jumping in. I am using the advanced universe plugin and they shouldn't be able to jump into that sector at all since there is no jump beacon there. Any thoughts on this?

I haven't used IR in some time, so I'm not sure on this one, but isn't there an option in sector takeover for invasions from the previous race?
That could cause them to jump in, other than that, I have no clue.

It is not sector takeover. IR has it's own sector ownership aspect which is different from sector takeover. There is no option for that. This is something else. Jack told me that the ships are definitely from the XRM jobs so it is something to do with XRM.

I believe paul is fixing the respawning problem in the next update with a sector ownership check on jobs or something like that.
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

Unfortunately, some XRM Xenon jobs have their sectors specified (command ships etc.). These will spawn no matter the spawn flags set - even if the "sector owner" flag is checked. Basically, setting the sector coordinates overrides everything else.

However, I am working on a way to sort this in 1.20 by adding an ownership check to the job script itself. Although I can't guarentee it will work - the same as I can't guarentee all the ships you are seeing are XRM ships.

As I am unsure that anyone noticed my last post in this thread, I will repost a little advice.

If you are still running TC with XRM, DO NOT run the Missile Defence mk2 mod. In my tests it causes a clash with the missile boat script within XRM, which then causes the game to sometimes crash.
Thank you. :)

XRM Download for AP - Need help

Post by Aidyer »

I just want to ask where exactly do download these two zip files? I've messed up downloading things into the wrong place countless times, and I can't seem to find a X3AP root folder like you do with TC in

Code: Select all

C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/x3 terran conflict
Not only does TC have a folder there, so do all the other four X games I have that I got on steam from X-BTF to X3R. Please help, anyone?

Thanks :P

There is actually a fix for this too, but it means rewriting some of the MDMk2 code. I'm not sure of the exact page its on in this thread.

I think there are actually two fixes required to stop the crashing. The ship docked check which is already in the XRM, and this MDMk2 fix.

I will try and find the link to the fix.

Please test and let me know if it sorts the issue.

Its inside the Terran Conflict folder, in a folder called "addon". Don't put the zips in there. Unzip them first.

Its all in the installation instructions.

hey, the mod looks great but i have three quick questions:

1. will the mod wreck my save games? if so, can i just install the hull multiplier pack by itself?

2. plasma burst generators seem pretty ridiculously strong to me, how is the balancing for these in this mod? some other person mentioned they modded their own game to cut the damage but 50% (i dont know if that was just impact, or DoT, or if those work together some how...) and that felt like a good reduction, while still being an effective weapon.

3. if i end up using the entire mod (with or without save game wreckage) is there some way i can disable the jump drive change? id like to still use the jumpdrive as a medium size ware.

Thank you for any information that might help me :)

Hi, I downloaded the mod and while I'm enjoying it, I'm experiencing a lot of lockups. I've turned all my settings down to the absolute minimum, even tried flying around without SETA on, but nothing seems to help.

I can upload a save file which pretty reliably locks up in a reproducible manner (at least on my machine), if that's any help?

I'm running AP, in addition to XRM I have the bonus pack and the docking computer resize mod installed.

Since this haven't been addressed:

You sure these are your only scripts? I had the same issue, and it was probably because I had CPU-leechers scripts. I guess, I mean; haven't tested the game with XRM and without them.

Ok, I've downloaded it and so far it looks good, other than I can't load my game saves, and says that they may be corrupt. Also, it's very laggy, even on the lowest settings. Anyway I can resolve either problem? (I knew I'd muck this up :x)

That's all, I'm sure. I've been playing vanilla up until installing this mod. I wrote a script to give me a ton of salvage insurance, but if I understand how scripts work then I just ran it once so I don't think that's the problem.

CPU overload shouldn't really be an issue for me. Vanilla AP ran smoothly for me even on much higher settings and at 10x SETA.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... 10x SETA? I used to run on 10x SETA, but then I got serious slowdowns to my CPU. Try reducing to default's 6x, maybe it'll run smoother. But if it's laggy even when you're looking at empty space, then try reinstalling the game (make sure to delete the folder); the files may contain junk data. I'm pretty sure that was my problem.

Also, tweak the Draw Distance a bit. If that doesn't solve, search for Fog Removing scripts and drop them into your scripts folder, maybe that'll clear some visual for you. By the way, in which OS you run and how's your RAM?
