Hi everyone

Since there are now no plans for any further patches containing new mission content, we will shortly be saving the moderators some work by merging the X3TC Spoiler forum with the main X-Universe forum. The spoiler forum was only ever intended as a temporary measure, and with so many threads being a mixture of spoiler and non-spoiler material, sometimes switching part-way through, it has been increasingly difficult for both users and moderators to decide where a given discussion belonged.

An exact date and time for the transfer hasn't yet been decided, but it will hopefully be in the next week or so. During the transition process, the Spoiler forum will be locked for new posts so that the threads can be transferred safely over to the X-Universe forum.

Once the forums are merged, it will of course become more important for all users to remember to use spoiler tags in their posts where appropriate. Including the name of the game you are playing in the title of any new threads you create would also be helpful, especially with so many people now playing the older games again.

Minor question CBJ, will any threads that are linked in the Ultimate X stickie which currently reside in the Spoiler Forum need to be updated with valid links or will that be taken care of by the people doing the thread transfering?



And I see silenced is volunteering to be the first on the chopping block.

I would assume that threads and posts retain their ID's and hence the links are not affected. Then again, to assume is hazardous both in game and on Fora.

Sounds reasonable, plenty of non-spoiler topics in the spoiler forum, keeping tabs on two forums was hard enough just reading them, moderation must have been a nightmare!

Including the name of the game you are playing in the title of any new threads you create would also be helpful

Any chance this could be made a mandatory drop-down field for new topics? might be the only to get this consistent. Perhaps that's just overkill.

Will it be acceptable to clearly mark a new thread as containing spoilers in the title, removing the need to spoiler tag the entire post?

No, we're not going to create mandatory drop-down fields. And yes, clearly marking a thread as containing spoilers in the title is an acceptable alternative to having the content in spoiler tags.
