To the X Graphic Novel Team
If you travel to Costa Rica and you go to San José, pay a visit to the building called "Omni" and there you'll find a library.
In that library a magazine called "Plan 9" is for sale. It's a Costa Rican comics magazine. It has some stories from different Costa Rican authors. One of them is me.
At the end of the first chapter in the black magazine (issue 1), you''l find something that reads "(...) Agradecimiento especial al X-Graphic Novel team por sugerir la idea de hacer un comic digital (...)" translation: "special thanks to the X-Graphic Novel Team for suggesting the idea of making a digital comic".
If you are part of such a team, you should buy it. Unfortunately it is a B&W magazine due to budget reasons, but I still think you may enjoy it. It costs about $2.5 in local currency equivalent.
I bet you are gonna feel proud, guys.

Howdo Alpha,
I just poped in for a quick catch up.
Thanks for the mention
chances of me being able to aquire said magazine is ,, well,, to be honest, highly unlikely but its nice to know anyway
As mentioned the X Graphic Novel 'Pirates Gambit' that was writen by Acid, 3D art by Grimm and 2D art by Myself and as mentioned Concept art by Rusti.
The 2 chapters that were released were a humongous amount of work, the X Graphic novel was going to undergo a major change in artistic direction, ie 99% 3D, but my last call for help resulted in exactly 0 (ZERO) responce, an attempt was made to plod on but the project just wasnt a possibility for myself to carry artisticaly alone.
oh and big thanks to Goateecat for the links to files
I don't even have a copy of those files (lost in a disc accident
).

God bless teh pessimistic, for they make backups of their files.
By the way, "Plan 9" magazine was published by José Ulloa and it was declared of cultural interest by the Viceministro de la Juventud (Viceminister of "Youth") in Costa Rica. So I guess we are now officially official, hehe.
It was declared that way for the editor turned a character from a popular legend into a superhero.
Cadejos was a half human, half dog (his head seemed like a dog) that was said to be in chains. It was some sort of ghost who used to scare people at night with the sound of those chains. Some people say it was the ghost of a criminal who died.
The character was revamped in a day where most of popular legends are being replaced by the US pop culture, thanks to the media.
As I said ithas different stories from different artists. Mine is a scifi. An ancient earth legend taken into the future where a female cop is hunting space druglords. During one operation the cargo ship was attacked by a strange ship with some strange technology and that brought her the memory of the legend that her motehr told her.
The story will evolve in 5 chapters (I am actually completing chapter 5 with real people and 3D sets and props) until she discovered some whereabouts about that strange ship and the character who was piloting it, always related to the legend.
It was funny to make it with real people. It took some effort and some help to make the photography session and I believe that I feel like some sort of movie director. the finished product may not be awarded an Oscar, but it goes one step beyond anything that has been made to date, at least in Latin american and I would bet that even in the whole continent.
While most of people try to replace actors with 3D models, I go in the opposite direction.
Right now I am a bit short on time, but I would love to see chapter 3 done. What is exactly what you need, Avis?

Indeed. That's why I tried to revamp the idea by making that mention in my comic.The_Rock wrote:that was some classic work.

pity half the team aren't allowed on the forum anymore

Not allowed in the forum??
Were they banned???
As I recall they were good fellas.
If they were banned, I bet they would have banned half the people in the UT forums.
If you have an exclusive club, banning people is Ok.
Banning customers is not good policy.
Stats show that unhappy customers tell their story to an average of 75 people in 6 months.
Nowadays email allows chain email which could speed up the process or increase the amount of people who is informed about the problem.
Banning customers is good if you want to get out of business.
Otherwise the only explanation would be an employee who sabotage the company by banning customers. Hate or money could be the reason. Money could only come from competitors trying to make the company go out of business.
I am sure that Egosoft wouldn't do that. Have you contacted Egosoft management?
Banning in the Atari forums ended up with a moderator being a goner. Customers are always right.
If I was banned from a forum with no good reason, I'd contact the management. If it's in another country I'd go to the embassy and explain the problem. i'd say that if top managers of the company aren't aware of what happens in the forum, then you have an employee running the company in the wrong way.
I already got to cancel a TV program due to xenophoby. I complained to the embassy of the country and they asked the TV channel a copy and used it to cut all funds from producers. If producers insisted on funding that TV show, then the companies wouldn't be allowed in the foreign country.
Sometimes you see a nick, and you think "I'll vent my stress on him". if you do that, you are denying the fact that internet comes worldwide and you really don't know who you are messing with.
Some customers turn their backs and never buy again, but some others like me are less passive. I never mess with people, but when people do some unfair things, I bring them the consequences of their actions.
Company business is not to ban people, except they spam with advertising or pornography or hate or something like that.

We are all working on separate projects now which have little to do with X Universe.alpharomeo81 wrote:Another project? Do you mean that there will be some sort of Chapter 3???
Avis has his video project,
i'm working on some designs for a game/ mods plus some stories im working on.
Grimm is selling car designs i believe and has given up on X totally. Cartel isnt an X fansite anymore its more Freelancer and other games: X is only a small fration of Cartel now.

Oh! I see. I guess I've been seeing too many unfair things elsewhere so you may understand my reaction.
Some time ago I had to so something to protect myself from an unloyal enterpreneur who wanted to block the comics project. She complained before the ministry of culture about supposed "preferences" towards our comics project, for we didn't invite them to some events where we were doing some sales.
So I went to her store and bought a warez copy of a DVD containing Hentai and presented it to the ministry and we argued that we don't want partners who promote porno and warez, as we work with young people and we do honest business. I presented the warez DVD and the invoice as evidence before the minister.
Also, the website of some people who were helping us was brought down in Google. They used a multiple submission technique to make it look like spam, so their website was banned and it took a while to recover. We suspect who they were.
We have been seeing some ugly practices in the business world. So I guess I react in that way and I forget that this place is different.
So I'm sorry if I reacted in a harsh manner.

Yeah, that thing about repulsive things reminds me the controversy around a remix of the menu theme of Wolfstein 3D. that remix is musically excellent, but it contains some "heil" and some Hitler speech, which apparently is not offensive. However it was seen by some people as something offensive.
For me, WWII is just like ancient Roman history. Such a remix is seen with a historical view by me. However other people may find it sinister. the tune itself sounds sad, and as a piece of art it is great.
