So one of the new features of beta 2.2 is trade graphs on a per sector basis. Go to the encyclopedia, select "galaxy", and you can click on a given sector, where it will display a graph of the top 4 bought goods, and top 4 sold goods, showing the amount traded over time. This is great! I love graphs and any sort of tool to help plan my economic activities.
To expand upon this, how about adding graphs to the encyclopedia in the "wares" section as well? Each graph would only show the info for the specific ware you are looking at. You could select either info for the whole known galaxy (excluding Xenons), a specific sector, and maybe sectors within a certain number of gates from the selected sector, in order to better plan with regard to autotrader and autominer distance requirements. There could be different colored lines for different aspects of the ware, such as:
-Demand over time, which is the sum of all the known buy offers at stations for the ware
-Total produced over time, a summary of how much of the ware that has been made at all known stations
-Total sold over time
-Total bought over time

If only it was accessible directly from the map, the UI wasn't straight from the DOS int 10h era, and display actually configurable like it was in Rebirth...

Usually I wouldn't point to EVE Online for UI...but this recent thing they did is flippin' marvelous.
Timestamped it for you guys.
They managed to pull off a sort of radial menue that is intuitive and gives you access everything in the "activity tracker".

Give me that...for X4.
Trade overview? Easy.
Mining overview? Boom.
Fleet overview? Oh lawd.
Like you could easily put everything into one radial menu with subsections like that...even the most blind of people would be able to find EVERYTHING like that.

All of the above with graphs for individual ships with time versus trades per hour, profit per trade, etc. Something like this would have helped me figure out quickly that my Nividium mners weren't acting correctly.
Take care,

Profit graph is a must. And please change it to actually show the graphs in logical overview without the 4 item limitation, and have all items preselected. It's such a hassle to have to reselect things every single time I want to look at station storage or whatever.

And also would be nice to adjust axis scale to min/max of data points. If manager has a couple 100m, or it's showing higher stock values there is no way to see any change.adeine wrote: ↑Sat, 9. This sort of breakdown would be very helpful for picking out exactly where the money goes and comes from, finding which items are most profitable and which expenses are highest. With complexes being the way everything is built it can be hard to really figure out how they're making money.ubuntufreakdragon wrote: ↑Sat, 9. Mar 19, 03:27 I want a per station overview of Profits

Re: Trade graphs in beta 2.2
There are a lot of possible ways to represent economic data. The main idea though is that it is nice to have meaningful ways to interpret economic trends so we can make better informed decisions as to where to put our traders, what to trade in, and what wares our factories should be producing. This is best done using graphs and tables, instead of slewing around on a map looking at ware levels for individual factories. Having economic data per sector (like it is in beta 2.2) is good, but having graphs for each individual ware that can represent supply and demand for the whole galaxy would be even better.

It also might be a useful step in improving the AI economy a bit. If you can collect data to show universal ware shortages then it's a small step to telling the AI to prioritize building production for those resources.
