What is the difference between Turret: Missiles Only, and Turret Missile Defence?
I know the general opinion is that Mosquito Missile Defence is ultimately better than either of them, but for now I'm just sticking a PRG in the turret of my Mercurys, since I got several from a 2nd-hand ship purchase.
Also, am I right in thinking PRGs are the best guns to use for anti-missile turrets? (considering the very limited selection of weapons the Mercury can use I mean - IRE, PRG, and something else - since it fires very fast triple volleys, designed to hit small, fast craft)

Re: Turret commands - Missile Defence vs Missiles Only?
Missiles Only means the turrets are full time PD, they will not shoot at any other thing. TMD means in the event that they don't have missiles to shoot at, the turrets will attack ships that attacking you.Elkestra wrote:What is the difference between Turret: Missiles Only, and Turret Missile Defence?

.
PRG is ok.
High level traders will buy some of mossies for defense anyway (cag/cls, not sure about UTs though, iirc not)
Again, not sure how turret setting reacts OOS (usual battling ground for traders)
For IS it's almost irrelevant, missile defense will shoot on anything prioritizing missiles, but on very slow fire rate, like 20% of original prg setting. For fighting is almost useless, only time I find this setting useful is for M6 to M6 boarding - controlling the shields.
Missiles only will shoot - well missiles only. On traders I usually set "protect ship" - it won't open fire first and will shoot closest enemy. Even missiles iirc.
