Well , reading the news letter, again we see hints to 'TNBT"??

and pole and votes a plenty for different things.. BUt that is a bit restrictive..
SO, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE ,NOT like IN TNBT??.
( hopefully someone involved with the game will read some of our ideas :)

PLEASE do NOT make it all on line, i dont have access to internet to play :cry:

and , PLease do NOT make it All on 'Stream' again internet access is restrictive.

Yes Planet landings. small outposts and restrictive movement in cities by access only by visas.

landings.. make diffecult ratings.. computer control-auto landing, but if damaged manual landings!.
maybe contact ...lets say ,earth landing... contact "artic control' ,who reqeust your destination on to the planet.. then your hud could,would project a series of square boxs that you have to keep flying in to make a safe landing...
well ,i mean make landing easy or as hard as the gamer skills..
TRY a freeware game called ;ORBITER: NOW thats hard..some great ideas.. but way OTT for teccie skills and gameing.

be able to do the complete game in differentways, I mean be a single player in a ship....so you do NOT have to build stuff all the time, and manage it all... gets boring.

free flight.... remove the jump gates. and just fly or warp speed , saves time when needing to cross a sector. gate to gate.....

more 'side missions' rescue,taxi work passenger, cargo carrying for others.
be hired to protect other ships... see game 'dark star' cos it was crappy but had some good job hire work /contracts.

be part of a wing ,assisgned to protect ships ,, but dock and launch from in the ship your protecting , NOT fly along side it............

errmm we'll think of some more

Planet landings, difficult atmospheric conditions etc. Think Alien and Aliens styled planet atmospheres.
Cockpit views and TrackIR 5 support, including looking around inside cockpits.
DX11 renditions of the already lovely ships and graphics.
More custom options when buying a new ship, I would like to choose the colour schemes and maybe the furry dice for the rear view mirror.
Mobile Pirate stations that will fit M6 class in the hangers would nice, to make up for the lack of guns. :)

maybe its a space game where there are 500 planets and you can land on all of them and they are properly to scale

OR a space sim where the entire galaxy is randomly generated like Elder Scrolls 2 with its 487,000 square kilometer map and it was released in 1997!

a galaxy with 2,000,000 sectors...


yeah, never gonna happen :D


dare i say it... multiplayer? at least thats possible and would make for some very interesting games

FTL Drive - possibly something the player has to earn to "unlock" interstellar space.
would be good.. the game could 'ship out' with say one universe.. say...our system "Sol".. then a few months later be able to down load the /a expansion pack.. by entering a code gained during the game.. this could be some kind of Faster than light drive and that could allow you to the next system and back again... that would expand the game completly and encourage to play more.....
that way the "game" could be bigger cos more disc space could be used for each "part" of the game..
imagine the first"part' with citys/stations on planets like GTA....

if you want too play a mmog go to battle star glactca and tell me if you still want them to make f@0k1ng mmo out of thier games that u would proble have to pay monthly.so in closer no mmo yes to a new game.

I would still like multiplayer capability, but not MMO (primarily due to not being able to mod it).

OP until TNBT happens you might want to look into a game called Evochron....it might be right up your alley. I tend to jump into it when I am aggravated at X3 or just need a change of scenery.

Tech trees. Designable ships. Recruitable and unique specialists. Rare lost techs drifting in the vast expanse or awarded after a particularly difficult mission. Political gamesmanship. Many more intrigues between shadowy guilds and collectives, brotherhoods and secret societies. The story needs not include a tenth of it.

The universe has been made. It needs to be filled with the stuff of life.

I want spinal weapons on large capital ships with a more cinematic approach to weapon firing. It looks weird when capital ships pass each other and all the turrets aim into a central area. It might have something to do with the ranges of weapons the maximum weapons range is around 6 or so km. I'm not sure how 20 km weapons would work out, but that's something for the developers to decide.

Something is lacking with the capital ships. They still feel like over-sized fighters, but that might be unavoidable since the player should be the one piloting it. Still I'd like to see the bridge area of a capital ship and I think parts of a ship should be damage-able. IE: engines are damaged or the shield generators are off line. you get the idea.

I think SETA should be in the game, but I simply don't see how SETA and multi-player can co-exist. With that in mind, if collisions in sector are still a problem with game mechanics, I'd like to see a way for a player to exit a ship and be in-active on a station(vacation on a player HQ or maybe a resort planet) and allow a "OOS" time advancement to take place.
Duke's Buccaneers... I hate you so much... I am sooo demolishing your HQ when our business is finished....

At least one new ship Class, the Light and Heavy Cruiser. Larger than a Frigate, smaller than a destroyer.

Warships that can buy a module to produce a particular weapon or fighter or product.

Does not need to be online.
Needs to come in a box with disc and manual on disc.

I will not purchase anything that means I have to stay on line all the time to play something that I OWN. No chance.

Options to get the Plot rewards by trading, or thinking not just doing the plots.

A multi system game, that does not mean a new PC purchase just to play a highly specced game.

Station made of modules, sold separately and added to existing stations. Each module for different purpose - energy, CCC, shields, turrets, docks, production, living, etc. Stations could have one or more of each. Damage should be local per module so one could be targeting by priority depending if purpose of the attack is destroy or capture. Each race would have its own style so pirate stations would make a jungle of different modules.

I rather like X3, there's a lot to like, so i'd like to see.. just more of it.

In terms of broken stuff, I'd just like to see the autopilot not crash into things, that means you mining ships the moment I jump IS. It also means me when I exit a jumpgate and the autopillock turns me 90 and crashes me into the sidewall.

The OOS v IS combat needs to be looked at, it hurts the immersion if I have to jump IS to protect a ship that can kick a Q's ass IS, but gets flattened when battling one OOS. I don't like that, nor having to put different weapons on just to 'game' the OOS system.

In terms of niggles: I'd like better trading, why I can't trade 25mj shields anywhere in Argon space, yet argon ships require them, is just a bit silly. Also the barter system does appear a bit less than useful - at least let me try to barter my good away or set up a wants list (hmm, will swap credits for 150,000 teladanium :) )

I think those PBGs are too powerful.

More time to do missions, so I can do several at once instead of a rush-job.

Stuff that could be added:
a bigger capital ship, a cruiser or battleship perhaps.
station defences - turrets on your missile fab?

Stuff to make a brand new game:
probably nothing, its a fly-yourself-around with additional automated ship commands, but wouldn't it be good to to introduce fleets of ships and war. I wouldn't want it to turn into a strategy game (so stuff like colonisation, empire building, tech research, etc are all not appropriate), but a fancy interface to command lots of ships flying about the galaxy as the NPC does the same to give you, your trading stations, (your planetary trading communities/resource production sites?) a good kicking would add the right kind of expansion to the game. It needs a more accessible ship-command interface or it would become too awkward to use, but I think that would make a fine addition to all the stuff we've already got.

hi baric sorry we tried that Evochron,, we like the OOLITE thats a good game and well supported.

MANUALs.. NO... not on the disc..
i would pay extra to have a geat big monster of a manual.
with ships charts and maps...
not every one has access to phtocopyers.. and it cost us a lot to get the x3 manual printed out at the library. worth it for reference
