Hello,
Don't want to take much of your time.

There are a number of forum members who are working out the math behind making modifications to factory performance.

I don't want to take your time with specifics, but I'll enclose a link to a few files if you're interested. (at bottom of message with description of files available)

We've been unable to implement, as it seems that many aspects of the economy are 'hard-coded'. Specifically, many factories appear to have the exact same profit per hour enforced.

I've read many interviews, in which you and your colleagues acknowledge the role that user generated content plays in taking your already excellent game one step further.

My question is this: will it be permitted for my fellow forum members and I to change parameters within the economy?

patch 1.3 will allow quite a lot of modding. what you want to modify most are the "types" files. Stay tuned...

I'd wait to see exaclty what we can modify first. Most of the settings are currently in KC code, and I'd be surprised if they give us access to all of them. (I'll be happy if they give us 1 or 2, because thats all it would take.)

I hope this includes being able to use modified files without needing to extract and move all the data files.

Oh man now another reason why I'm going to lose sleep waiting for the next patch. :)

Being able to have lots of things that modify the tships installed at once without having to merge them manually would be cool.

Well Argo, you're bound to make a lot more captures with it.

I'd be filling my draws too, just thinking about the pilot who could fly a ship like that. :roll: :P
