Okay... so you've played every game since X2. What was your favorite mission strand in Terran Conflict?

Devastated.. I love my X series physical collection and was looking forward to adding another nice boxset to it.

Oh well.. hope this may change down the track with a physical Gold Edition with all the addons etc in a few years.

Gee so if mid 30's is old then there aint no hope for me then I'm a fossil or dinosaur! I'm double your age and I still get excited about new games as not much more to get excited about at my age :P
He said older, not old, however, I do understand your sentiment. At 54 years young, and taking some really strong medications due to nerve damage in my spine, I get annoyed with folks in their 30's claiming they are now old, and cant play certain games well because they are getting too slow, or any number of other excuses attributed to advancing age.
So as we are showing this age thing in numbers terms I am 62 on 26th November so you all know what I'm now getting for my Birthday right? It's interesting that you describe you have a back injury I myself had a serious car accident and my spine is seriously damaged too and I'm on the old Morphine so my gaming times restricted as I can not sit up for long periods of time. However I am determined not to let this prevent me playing this game when it finally gets here. With regards to being to slow to play games, I'm sharper than ever as it seems you gain in other area when other parts that beer cannot reach kick in lol. I'd even go as far as saying. I'm quicker than Billy the Kid was and smoother than a bar of chocolate. My brain feels sharper than ever though no doubt that will change in the coming years as the skins goes into tidal effect hehe.

I just hope that everyone who invests in Egosoft this time gets value for money as the last game we all know was very disappointing to say the least even with the updates it's continued to receive was their worse venture to date for many reasons. As long as we litrialty get more space to do stuff than the last game you won't hear anymore from me on here until their next expansion for X4 or X5 comes along in 10 years time... That's if I'm even still here!!!
Happy birthday Billynomates, I will be myself 54 on the same day :) and guess what I want for my birthday ? I had X2, X3's, and now, a contrario as many people, I enjoy to play a 'modded' X-Rebirth (many thanks to the great modding community  ). As Geraldine, I wish many success to Egosoft and X4. Only 10 days to wait

G'day from Australia,

I can't buy X4 on steam as egosoft hasn't listed a sale price in AUD. Steam just repriced the whole store from USD to AUD and if developers/publishers haven't provided an AUD sale price then it's unavailable to buy :( :(

I wondered why it suddenly disappeared from pre-order on steam.

My Birthday is 26th November if your is on the same day then Happy Birthday to you too pal  Like you I have X2+3 and X Afterbirth of which I have only played 52 hours but 18 hours of that were afk as i was called away to work and left my PC on and that's the reason I didn't get a refund was in the login screen and steam refused to refund me otherwise I'd of not had XR at all.

So, I have some more good news for people. In a departure from our practice with previous games, we have now agreed with GOG to release X4 Foundations on their platform, as well as on Steam, from day one. :)

Hey, that's great news CBJ. I mostly purchase from Steam, but GoG is awesome. Hopefully this broadens your customer base!

I cannot see how this reflects well on Egosoft ..... just cancel your order on steam and wait for what comes around ... :?

What's the problem? Why is diversifying their sales base a negative?

Good news! Will there still be a nosteam executable for customers who bought the game from Steam or the Egosoft store?

@ jasonbarron ..But your not diversifying, your just moving from one secure marketplace to a free open marketplace..... Massive cancellation of Steam orders … must remember to play poker with Egosoft ….. cannot in my old age see the long term benefit to Ego .. Have I blundered into pre-ordering....

Egosoft won't lose anything* if the total number of copies sold is the same.

*But actually it depends on the percentage taken from Steam/GOG.

Lolol whatever guys. I think that Ego diversifying this way is all upside with no down save for some crabby types who can't see out of their own little niche for whatever reason:)

I just saw that you guys want to do a day 1 launch on GOG. As a huge fan of both the X games and also GOG, I'm willing to forgoe my no-preorder mantra in this case if I get satisfactory answers to two questions:
1) If I buy the Collector's Edition, do I get the final, complete version of the game, all future DLCs included or will there be a more complete version in the future?
2) I have an I7 4710Hq and a GTX 980m, gaming laptop,it's not exactly recommended spec but would it be able to run the game in a satisfactory way?
