Love what you've done with the place. One question though.

Is there supposed to be a lack of marines/mercs in the early game? I'm still on my first 6 hours, but have been unable to find any.

As far as I know I have uncovered what sectors are available to me at this time.

Magic tree is a cockpit air freshener... you know, like those one can hang to the back-looking mirror in a car?

Besides, it really makes a nice alternative to fluffy dice, those are so "70's" :D

Starting to get sick of my shields being cut every time I blow up an M5 making a pass at me. :shock:

It's not so much that I don't like it in general, but just when an M5 explodes within 1km of me and cuts my shields down more than it's guns ever could. That is what annoys me.

If a Cap ship exploded and took out most nearby ships that don't have the shield power to survive it, that would be totally acceptable.

But not an M5 taking out 100% of an M4+'s shields...

That issue is being looked at.. It would be good if you could post a bugreport on the techsupport forum with as many details as you can, on this. ;)

So... What do I do...

Ok, I'm busy at the moment, so I'll probably play at some point, but concentrate on getting the superbox and other general life out of the way, to fully enjoy XTC when it's started getting better. :)

The basic points given / ship kill or trade deal were not adjusted.. nor the rank requirements in terms of points, iirc. There is an optional al-plugin 'fading fame' (enabled (and scalable) on hard and extreme and custom difficulties) that well, does what the name implies (without going into negatives, of course), and for certain missions, rep reward was disabled or downscaled..


@EJ and everyone - the 6 months figure is a very rough estimate - that is in no way a deadline ;) and it can vary greatly depending on, well, luck and tons of random factors.

Litcube's Edited Missions fixes the notoriety reward "bug".

Thanks for the info, I now know what I need to do to make Organic Notoriety compatible with XTC. :)

Edit:
I just reread and noticed I misunderstood.
What about mission completion notoriety rewards?
Taxi X people from stationA to stationB and get Y notoriety for completion.

As notority is only one part of limitations, the other is your income ;) Obtaining a capship isn't as easy as in TC, as long as you don't choose one of the "richer" gamestarts ;) And then, even 30-50 millions won't help to get a M7... and if you encounter Xenons... well, you may reconsider getting something bigger ;)

Y could be decreased, the calculation of Y could be changed, or the code for 'give player Y' could be removed entirely for certain missions (like fight missions that rake up rep & rank like hot butter anyway).

Er ... did the Khaak Kyons replace the mass driver? I just took 3 scouts on head-on, got them in the first pass, and my shields stayed at 100% but the hull is down to 59%? 350k down the drain, with no way of avoiding it.

There are 2 types of kyon. Identical except the "special" version ignores shields mass driver-style

Ok, weird bug but no screenshot to show it

I accepted 2 mercenary missions at the same time (same duration and same place)
Got there, killed all the ships (2 kestrels, some harriers and other M5's) but as i was watching the last kestrel go boom and the mission directive change to "talk to Horasumas Hohindras Hanirases I in Atropos VI" my shields instantly went from 86% from the fight down to 0% the moment the directive changed...

No other ships around and didn't drive into anything...

Any way of distinguishing between the two before getting hit? These seemed to be normal scouts, not even fighters.
