Basically it was a 3 step process.
1. Bridge two sectors with the Hub as normal. So between Argon prime south gate and Home Of Light north gate for example.
2. Realign the gates to one end of the hub pairing. So from Argon Prime south gate to the gate leading from the hub into Home of Light. That breaks the connection into Home of Light so you can only go from Argon Prime to the Hub.
3. Realign the gates again elsewhere. This detaches the hub from the Argon Prime south gate and permanently breaks the connection between the two. Argon Prime south gate and Home of Light north gate are now dead gates.
Rumour is they fixed it in a recent patch tho so you may find it doesn't work anymore. Boo.

66 - Tempest
The capture of the Elephant, especially as undamaged as it was, has proven to be a major asset as it means I no longer need to retain that Ares as a storage ship and that has allowed me to scrap it over in PTNI Shipyard which gives me a substantial financial boost. Not for long of course as what comes in soon gets spent, but it's meant the second spur of my manufacturing complex is now complete..

.. and that's 5x Tempest with the associated Boron food fabs tagged on the end just like with the Paranid complex. Again this spur is self contained aside from energy and ore feeds and can consequently be shutdown or activated as required depending if I need to divert resources elsewhere.
I've decided to go heavy on the Tempests as they combine both a decent punch and respectable speed with a very nice IFF self-seeker function, which means if their original target is destroyed they will automatically select the next nearest enemy ship and go after that. It means on a per-unit basis they have a higher cost than many other missiles, but it should both cut down on the number of wasted missile losing their lock because they're aimed at dead targets, while also meaning targets are getting hit from multiple angles not only by what I'm firing at them, but by loose Tempests acquiring them and coming at them as well.
The next batch of eager to get themselves killed signups are in and this time we're bringing into the fold some heavy hitters..

.. New to the family, two Heavy Ospreys, one of which has an unhealthy fixation with mounting Firestorms as a general purpose combat weapon. I forsee I won't be having to pay this guys salary for very long.. Also we have another Nova pilot to round out the missing position in Blue wing since 'Swiftshire' transferred over to Green wing and a couple others elsewhere, plus White wing which aren't really assigned to anything yet. Spare ships for now.
As fleets go it's looking quite healthy now, but presents me with a deployment problem. What I really need is some sort of carrier for them all, but carriers tend to run quite expensive and the 'free' ones tend to object to being considered 'free'. I'll have to ponder that one. There's a few that are currently short of equipment, but I've got someone handling that problem, the captain of the military transport 'The Mockingbird' who's a right shady character, but assures me he's got his fingers in many pies and can supply me with all sorts of under the table goods at knockdown prices. So he'll be trading out and about, wheeler-dealing for me in future, while presumably trying not to get fingered by the rozzers.
I've also been contemplating my encounter with that Python yesterday. I'm not sure why there's a Python stationed in that sector, it's a fairly backwater sector after all, but while dodging PPC on the way out tho we passed sufficiently close to it that I was able to get a quick scan of the ship and what we discovered was quite interesting..

..An absolute boatload of PPC/IBL and a wide assortment of lighter weapons, CIG/HEPT/PAC, but conspicuously no Flak.
Now that represents an interesting opportunity as in theory that makes it much less capable at fighter defense.. and with only one gate into that sector, and about 100km between that gate and the next nearest one in Rhy's Desire it would make it comparatively easy to seed Rhys Desire with AdvSats to ensure there's no reinforcements on the way as being interrupted by something large with attitude is the biggest concern when conducting operations inside the borders of a major power. If I could do that and consequently isolate that destroyer.. Hmm..
