Plugin Manager for AB?

Post by Smart_Bomb »

I'm am trying to use cyrows plugin manager for AP. Ive always used it to TC and any spk will load and work with no problem. I bought AP today and still want to use the manager. I uninstalled all the mods I had and told it to point to steam>steamapps>common>X3 terran conflict>AP

when I click start it loads TC main screen when I want AP. I messed around with it as much as I could but I couldn't figure it out. I am using the extended mod that I already manually put in all the folders and I have various spk mods suggested from that forum that don't have conflict with the main mod I added.

Any ideas? I'm using the lite version too

edit LV

Merged into plugin manager stickie for obvious reasons

It's also AP not AB just to be pedantic :)

*I was hoping to get some feed back from the forum since Ive been waiting for a few days now*

Was just checkin in to see if anyone had answered last question yet but since my AP should arrive any day now, I figured Id ask quick question along same lines.

I ordered the full versionof AP instead of just the addition, even though I have TC already. When I go to install AP, especially considering I do have a few basic cheats installed in TC, all through the the PM, is there anything I should know ahead of time? If I understand correctly, my TC files do have some affect on AP and its setup. So Im hoping to avoid complications and get straight to playing AP. :D

I am and will be lookin around for some relavent posts but, If theres some specific posts that would be helpful or necessary, Id appreciate a point in that direction by anyone that could suggest any.

some mods and scripts will not work with AP, I am running the Xtended mod which works great for AP. I found another post that has someone who has been testing out which scripts work and I have been manually installing them.

So, at this point, the PM still doesnt work correctly for AP then? Or is it just for certain mods/scripts, that it isnt working correctly?

( Still waiting for my AP to arrive unfortunately. Starting to worry me a bit. I ordered it Feb28. ) :?

Hi,

I installed AP originally last year and used the then current version of the Plugin Manager Lite to install my scripts etc. This worked just fine, selecting X3AP.exe instead of X3TC.exe. I've been playing on this build for months without issue - updating my scripts etc. as needed.

However, I just installed TC and AP on a NEW machine - the base game (AP 2.0) works just fine. I've also added manually added mods (XRM and associated bits) just fine. However, I'm now using v1.41 of the Plugin Manager and it simply doesn't work with AP.

I launch the Plugin Manager (v1.41) as with previous versions. I select "Add a Directory" filting by "X3AP.exe". However despite all this the Plugin Manager still insists on launching TC. Additionally ALL my plugin manager installed scripts fail to appear in-game. I can only assume they've incorrectly gone to the TC folder rather than Addons as they should.

Rather frustrating. I'm going to try to revert to an older version of the plugin manager to see if it resolves the issues.

Note: these are the EXACT same scripts and mods I have installed on my other build just fine. The only difference is the other mange has a slightly older version of the plugin manager.

Edit: I think the new Plugin Manager keeps reverting back to the TC folder rather than Addon - not sure why. Going back into the Plugin Manager again it appears to have forgotten my previously set folder (Addons shown in path bar at top) to just the TC route. Changing this back to Addons sees all my plugins gone. This is despite the path having shown correctly while I was installing them. Very strange.

Possibly this is simply some UI quirk - it would explain why sometimes when using the PM you see the "Launch" button show as "Launch Albion Prelude" while greys out, only to switch to "Launch TC" a moment later.

Cheers,

Scoob.

A very noob question (everybody's got to start from bottom):
In Manager/Packages/Mod Selector it's only possible to choose one mod to run in the game, from the list. Am I understanding this correctly?

For example, I have MARS, FCC and Mobile Ship Repairs on the list, yet with only one enabled I can for some reason still use all in my game.

I'm confused over this matter so an explanation would be very much appreciated!

This Plug-in Manager does with the new X3 Ablion Prelude? Also, does the previous cheat extender work with it as well?

What is the exact wording of the error message?

Can you post a screenshot of the message?

I believe that X2-Illuminatus was referring to the FAQ about protected folders (which is not the same as a locked drive). That is why the exact wording is important.

In short, the installation default to install in your programs folder is a bad recommendation. You should make a folder somewhere other than under programs. Also best if not at the root.

So something like C:\Games\X3TC would be good. (If you are using Steam, then C:\Games\Steam.)

Having to click Run X3 muiltiple times when in X-Universe Plugin Manager Lite

Post by pepperg »

Running V1.41 and lately having to click "Run: X3 Albion Prelude V2.0" button about 5x to get the game to launch. Not sure why. Indicative of a problem?

As I have mentioned in this thread, thanks to the suggestion of X2-Illuminatus, I decided to run the non steam AP exe to have two installs. The one in Steam to play TC for achievements, and the non steam to play AP with mods. But how can I make the plugin manager recognize my non steam exe and folder?

Do I just rename X3AP_n.exe to X3AP.exe overwriting the other one and then select the new location with plugin manager?

The pluginmanager won't recognise the exe as it looks for the filename. Renaming it would be one solution hut steam might replacenit again
Another way is to copy it to another directory and point the.pluginmanagera at it

However u could also make the pm recognise the different exe name. In the pm install dir. Goto the data file and open the exe file up
Then u can edit the exe name it recognises

I am having issues with the plugin manager...

I have all 3 games (X3 TC, AP, and Reunion) For any game i install mods for it verifies the files 100% ok. I close the plugin manager and reopen it, and shortly after that i reverify and it forgets the readme files (3 missing files) after that. it eventually forgets other files... and results in the game become buggy and crash prone.

I raged last night and reinstalled windows mainly becaues it was time to anyway... xD and it still doing it. I dont know what else to do. (This copy of windows IS updated.) I have ran it as UAC Admin.

If it matters the games are from steam.

Right at this moment I am feeling stupid, confused and tired!

I have installed the plugin manager. Fine. It shows the three directories I have on C drive, I.E.: AP Steam; TC Steam; TC 3.1.

However I have copid both the AP file and TC 3.1 file to another partition, to safely play with mods. Partition = D. I have also downloaded the no steam exe to the file of AP that is on D. I can run both games from D, no probs; but stupid me just cannot work out how to add these two directories to the plug in manager, so I can mod. them.

Please help. :(

*edit* Its ok, think I have worked it out now, doh!

I've had Cycrow's plugin manager for a few months and I am glad I got it...

I recently updated it and installed the new mods/plugins (whatever you want to call them) the update came with...

There were three upgrades in the game that came from plugins that I cant seem to utilize for the Life of me...

- Emergency Transporter Extension
- Boarding Transporter Extension
- Slipstream Drive

Anyone have any idea how to operate these?

And on a side note, any other good plugin/mod reccomendations? I'm currently thinking of trying to find a mod that has to do with the PHQ, (Such as streamlining ship production, how does it take 10 freaking hours to build a Heavy Centaur Prototype in a station that is among the biggest around? ) [NOTE: this is all from TC by the way...]

EDIT: I forgot to mention the Advanced Jumpdrive Upgrade is a GODSEND! I freaking LOVE that thing... makes life in X3TC a hell of a lot easier...

THANK GOD FOR PEOPLE LIKE CYCROW!
