Firstly, many thanks for this download data base. Your work is much appreciated.

A search function would be nice. Searching for a certain author or a part of a script's name or description are always good means to find scripts / mods.

The idea of different sections or categories is good, but there shouldn't be too many of them. So one section per game, for each game categories for Trade, Fight, Build and Think are okay. Then in each of the four categories I would list all available scripts, sorted by alphabetical order and maybe by the subcategories you're using now (as the design of the Community Scripts and Download library). Starting with an index, where one could easily navigate to one of the subcatogries in the list.

Thanks for the input, I was already looking into getting a search script to search for authors but there is not one available yet. But I have edited another search script and it seems to be working. Although it could be better.

So today i've been working on modules and menus to make it less cluttered and easier. Also due to bot's uploading stuff i've had to make it so you have to register to upload.

New Rquires feature and next batch of x3tc mods. In total [672 files] [278 Published] [145 unpublished or awaiting permission] [249 unsorted and unedited]

Changes (That I can remember):
  • Uploaded and edited Hotkeys
  • Uploaded mods/scripts/library/programs that other mods need.
  • Added a new feature, were you can see if the mod requires something like the Hotkey Manager or Plugin Manager.
Future:
  • Need to look at reworking the file list to accommodate the new features better.
  • Look through what I have already uploaded to change what they require.

Frustrating, and time consuming. In total [787 files] [321 Published] [217 unpublished or awaiting permission] [249 unsorted and unedited]

Changes (That I can remember): Problems:
  • Artificial Life category is coming up with a strange 330 error ever since I tried to copy a download. I've had a go trying to fix it, but as its getting late i'm going to leave it tonight. I'm thinking it might be a database problem, but everything I have read about it says its gzip. But I have not got it enabled :?.

Yo Swampy :)

I noted that there is a duplicate entry in the index for PMTS under Combat Scripts.

Keep up the good work mate

Thanks, there are two entries due to being two ways of installing (spk and zip).

I'm trying to find a way of combine entries like that for the two formats but haven't got there yet

Doing more work to categories to try and make it easier to navigate.

Created following icons:
[ external image ]
- For a category relating just to a single modder's mods/scripts.

[ external image ]
- For a sub-category.

[ external image ]
- For older versions of mods in that category

I have uploaded some newer versions of the mods on the X3TC PUI.

EDIT: You can see the complete list of downloads in one page here: http://www.x1tp.com/root/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=52

EDIT: Had to revert to an older database as the latest got corrupted, that's today's work gone :x

I've published the x3r downloads which I uploaded without editing them, like I did with the x2 downloads because its going to be a long time before I even get to them. The x3r downloads are in their correct categories which helps users a little.

So that's about 150 files unedited but published for x3 reunion.

One thing that has happened other the last couple of weeks is that i'm getting lots of people searching for downloads via google and other search engines and finding what they want on the site. That's one reason I have published the x3r ones.

I like the icons, very snazy :D

Now I am off to check your site again, was a while since last time - a year or so maybe.
I hope I can find a section with tutorials and collective knowledge, eh collected. Sure, I find the sticky here usefull, and X3dmod site (the one Observe has) and some others.
I have saved some texts from threads around the net but not nearly anything that can be amassed.

Well, I think it is a jolly good initiative and a welcome site. Thanks for all your hard work

More work done to it, I have updated all the icons for the categories and I have also been working on a new download detail page. Its hopefully much better than the default one.

See new example here: http://www.x1tp.com/root/index.php?opti ... 98&lang=en

and

http://www.x1tp.com/root/index.php?opti ... 26&lang=en

EDIT: I'm going through the X3TC Downloads and any files I don't have permission for i'm using the download link to direct to the topic. The ones with [ external image ] are the mods.

I'm also going through and any duplicate mods i'm combining into one. So now instead of two different entries, the mod now has a main download (normally a SPK) and an alternative download which is usually in a zip form.

I love the effort you are putting into this site and will definitely use it once I switch my game from Vanilla to Modified. But I couldn't help but notice that unless my browser is full screened the image for "X: Beyond The Frontier" extends over top the search box and "Top Five Downloads Section"

This isn't a large problem, and I just thought I would point it out. (Sorry if it has already been done  )

Please can you tell me which browser are you using, and what screen resolution. I did implement a script a bit back so that if you are using a small resolution the website removes the modules to the right so no overlapping.

I can confirm that happens in Firefox if you resize the browser window down

Here's an example for you
