I think you're getting a tad confused over the production process if Egosoft said the product went Gold I see no reason why it didn't and they probably had a contract date with the publisher to honour in the first place.

I don't know much about DVD pressing, but in the case of printing you typically have to negotiate a cost for a specific run of copies. Whilst you could in theory take your business elsewhere that will likely push up your costs as you will be after a quick turn around from another supplier.

X3 Terran the long wait.

Post by Praetorias »

Here we go again... after playing Eve Online for over 5 years including the Beta Testing and getting my char to prob one of the most highly skilled and faily well off.... I got fed up with the constant lag issues if you decide to take part in some combat etc.

Anywho... I bought X3 Reunion during my eve days but due to eve being so huge just like X3 I could not find time to play it. I now since quitting eve have considered installing it but am trying to avoid the pull of it as it is better spending time in the terran release and starting afresh.

So now I sit here and try to work out how to do things using these forums and dream of the large ships as I only managed to get up to the better fighters when I first played.

Sorry... but I just had to post and vent the frustration of having to wait another two weeks lol. Although Eve was huge I still firmly feel when I did try X3 it was deeper and a richer experience. Atmosphere is everything.... eve had none of that.

So... heres to the nights of dreaming of the TL Elephant and Corvettes and all that potential money to be made.

I think Deep Silver is having major production issues. Sacred 2, which is being distibuted by Deep Silver, went gold a week or so ago and won't be released until Nov.

Unfortunately that's the case with a lot of MMO games. They don't have any atmosphere to them, only what the players bring with them. I have played a lot of MMO's and will always drop them in favour of a good single player experience. The last one I played was Age of Conan. Got to level 71 of 80 before boredom set in.

Hmm, I nearly just changed the first post to say the release will be on 170th October. Now that would have caused an outcry. ;)

It's DeepSilver's decision, not Egosoft. I am sure the Ego guys/gals are as frustrated as us!!!

Now with that said, if only Egosoft chose a US/NA publisher, and not let DeepSilver handle both coasts.

It's just another week, nothing to worry about :)

If there's another delay, then we start worrying :o

Screw the manual, the manufacturer, and all 3rd parties involved with thier heads in thier asses.

Why not take all the profits straight to the developers? Offer it for direct download with registration key direct from this site. How hard is it to set up a few servers and take some credit card numbers really? I can do it, so can you. US release debates solved. Delay problems solved. Manual problems solved, just include a PDF in the download. Everyone is happy. Why not?

Seriously, I have nothing to play right now and am bored to tears. This game is the only thing to look foward to for months and by that time I have to go and start working again. I got time NOW! gimmie gimmie!

Wow Deepsilver. Crap like this haunts releases. VTMB got screwed in a similar way ( among many other outside factors screwing with it ) With luck we will hear of an American release by then. Funny how some sites somehow knew it would be the 17th ;) I smell conspiracy, And that is what you get for letting Teladi publish your game. :teladi:

so if egosoft skipped the publisher altogether, who would pay for the development of the game ?
