Is that with or without the drm on the disk?
Note i am not asking what drm they are using or why but merly how much space the drm requires since it must also uses some space on the disk.
I also have no idea how big a drm footprint is in terms of disk space so that is why i ask.

Some form of copy protection will definitely appear on the disk. It is not put there to be a hassle to us, the true fans of the game. It is only there to protect the rights of all those who make money out of the original copies from those who seek to undermine the industry.

CBJ, from a few pages back wrote:Clearly you missed the bit where discussion of copy protection was split out of this thread and locked. This isn't all that surprising since it's now in another thread, so no warning and I'll simply remind people: no discussion of DRM and copy protection please, because people seem to be incapable of discussing it without straying outside the bounds of the law and therefore the forum rules.

It will run smooth or not depending on your screen resolution and gfx settings.
The card in that pc is a buget card thus not very powerful.

Sidenote: why do companies alway's put good cpu/ram/hdd/... together with a bad gfx card?

Since none of us have X3:TC yet, except for those who are under an NDA, we can only base our expectations on X3:R. That said, I can tell my 8600 GTS is not enough to run X3:R smoothly at 1080P and high quality. Check out www.gpureview.com for specs, prices, and comparisons on video cards - specifically the nVidia geForce 9600GT (8800GT) or ATI Radeon HD 4850 as the bare minimum.

To stay competitive price wise for the mainstream buyers who may not necessarily know the difference :) This also gives them the ability to skimp on other parts such as cases with decent airflow, and PSU's.

I've a question about sys.req. :

3gb of RAM in "recommended" is only for Vista (since Vista takes about 1 gb for itself) or because game compiled with /LARGEADDRESSAWARE key, and designed to use all 3gb for game itself on XP systems?

Considering the dramatic install size increase, I'd like to know exactly what was added too :)

I can wait though, I'm patient. Unless I'm not. That's what seta is for.

Maybe Terran Conflict won't require the disk to play.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

if previous games are anything to go by, then the demo will be available after the initial release, as thats when it has been available on previous games

It probably will require the disk in the drive, if only for copy protection purposes (just like X2 & 3 did initially).
