[X3:TC/AP] - Mod Requests/ideas

After long modding break, I and solek start modding again.

We decided to not creating random mods, but it would be better, if we know your ideas or requests for new mods.
If we know, what kind of mods you want, then we will be much easiest to make them.

IMPORTANT:
We creating new mods only from vanilla game parts.
We don't modified other authors created mods.
We are not script writers, therefore don't ask to make a scripts.


In this topic everyone can write their mod ideas and requests.

MOD REQUESTS
When you add request, write in more detail, what you want.

MOD ideas:
If you have some ideas for new mod, you can write it here.
If no current requests, then we will decide to make a mod from the mod ideas.

MOD REQUESTS:

DrBullwinkle - requested to modified Advanced Complex Hub MK2 station - add station more capital ships docks.
I will create this mod, new mod name - Advanced Complex Hub MK2

I add to the Advanced Complex Construction Kit station - more 2 external docking parts and add 3 capital ships docks. Into the station now can docking 30 ships externaly.
Add externat dock part into the left and right side of arms.

A Nividium mine that mines and process Nividium as quickly as a Ore or Silicon mine. Could be a Teledi only offered factory.

As far I know, factory product production time can't change, that is hardcoded or maybe it can change via scripts or MD.
We are not script writers, so we can't done this.

I like your use of mooring points for the capital ships!

However, when I said "more than 2" capital ships I was not thinking that you would make "3" moors. :) ... I was thinking more like 10+ (As many as you can make work, spacing-wise). (Think of a Military Outpost, but with mooring points instead of the arms).

Also, I would change the external docks for smaller ships into a large internal hangar. External docks are a problem for the AI, as well as for frame rates. Internal docks are more attractive, as well.

It would be nice if the hub could dock fighters/m8, ts/tp/tm, and m6 internally. With a very large internal hangar (50 or more)?
  • (If possible, it would be nice for the internal hangar to have docks on both North and South sides because the hub cannot be rotated.)
Intended Purpose: I make one factory complex, using Complex Cruncher. I would like to use the complex hub as my "home base" for my fleet (instead of using my PHQ). So I would like for very many NPC traders to be able to dock, as well as a significant portion of my fleet (for restocking and transfers). I want TL's docked there for additional storage, and M7M's and carriers should be able to dock for missile, ammo, and weapons reloads.

In other words; many ships -- including many capital ships.

As far I know station internal dock - there are no docking ships count limits. I will add internal dock - where can docked M5 - M6, M8, TM class ships.
I will add internal dock and add much more capital ships docks, next weekend I will posted progress.

would you consider a star trek ds9 model for the phq?

why not make it so that you can add a trade station/equipmentdock or even the HQ to your complex and use it as hub/Storageunit

Maybe can change complex hub to another station model, like trade station, equipment dock or even player HQ, but there need to think about station sizes, because these stations are very huges, therefore if change some of this station as complex hub, then it will be huge as others stations in the complex. I'm not too sure if it works, or works without a bugs.
I will try to replace complex hub model to other station model.

improved station docking
ok i was attempting to do this myself but due to harddrive death taking all my work and the fact that i'm lazy

all stations should have at least one cap ship dock{1}
argon and teladi trade stations should have two cap ship docks(if pos all trade stations should have internal docking but that would mean work like sticking two stations together to make it bigger so the docking point can fit in the station) and the XXL SSP should have three cap ship docks and replace the model of the anarchy port with the yaki shipyard

military bases could have the external mid size docking clamps removed and be replaced with internal docking and have a hub type docking point on each of the arm things around the top (maybe lose the bottom half of the station where cap ships dock now)

terran stations (as they are all big) can have the internal docking for all small/ mid size ships

now into the realm of fantasy

you know the bit at the top of the old shipyards(looks like the front of voyager from star trek) any way you could make the model of that bit bigger so that an all small/mid size ship internal dock point could fit in it and then all stations with that bit could have internal docking

and if you could do all this by only messing with the models so that it will work with other mods that would be super great


{1} ether the drive through (like old shipyard) or the reverse out (like on the hub) dealers choice

so what do you guys think

These are very huge improvements and there need very long time to do that, we don't want to start so huge mod, will be much better if we create many small mods.
Solek already working on the new STATION MOD, where will be replaced many vanilla stations (trading, equipment, shipyards, ...) on our early created station models, from our mods.

Advanced Complex Construction Kit mod update:

I add Complex Construction Kit station internal dock and remove station arms:

Mod is ready by 90%. Approximately mod release date - June 2

Hello all you creative people out there, just was remebering the old days of x2 TS script called Afterburner Suiside or something like this. It was really fun to have some TS turn on you after you fire and try to collide with your ship by ramming it, basically calling for support and ramming it with 3 other TS very fun :). Another idea that was floating around involved a AI script were a single station perhaps unknown station in a unknown sector off the beaten path starts with a few ships and sends out ships with a "virus" as pilot, basically like a No Pilot but not capable, and any ship coming to investigate gets its pilot ejected and turned into The Virus Armada, after a certain threshold, the virus fleet invades sectors by broadcasting copies of the virus
if a ship gets within a radius. Playership being immune is requested to go investigate. Nice idea right? let me know what you guys think of both ideas.
