Is the Alpha Zone paint mod really correct?
I'm sure this isn't something wrong with my game since it matches the list of paint mods on the wiki, but this one paint mod has always looked like a bug to me. Not just ugly--the checkered light- and dark-grey pattern looks all the world like the stand-in for a missing texture. Is it just me that thinks this? If not, it seems odd that I can't find any discussion either here or on the wider web about it in the seven (!) years since X4 was released.

Missing textures are usually black and purple checkerboard at maximum brightness, unaffected by light. Something comparable to "Violaceous"clevider wrote: ↑Thu, 5. Alpha zone blends with underlying elements. So not a bug.

Violaceous was my favorite, i reported a bug, they never fixed it
On nearly every non DLC ship you have 3 colors, not only one purple.

They didn't "fix" it because it wasn't broken, as was explained at the time.
