Bernd mentioned an "unusual" DLC coming in next year and an hopefully an announcement soon.

PLEASE, let that be a game mode with procedurally generated universe (map), factions, and diplomacy to bring this game to the next level of an absolute sandbox masterpiece.

Seeing this company growing in the past 18 years has been amazing, much love and congrats for these 5 and 20 years milestones!

Congratulations Egosoft, you deserve the success.
And it will really round out the game visually to have the argon and teladi ships updated and I'm glad to see the teladi are keeping the mushroom vibe rather than a full redesign.
One thing though, are you sure about the E naming scheme? Tbh I didnt like it with the Paranid and if you do the same with argon and teladi much of the games ships will have this E too. Wouldnt it be better to give the old ships a suffix rather than the new ones?

Congratulations Team! and thank you Bernd for that little sneak peak.

i consider myself to be a very late endgame-phase player, and thus haven't really touched X4 in a decent while, but "the next big thing" seems to be always on the horizon for X4, and i will not hesitate to jump back into the saddle again to sink ungodly amounts of time in this game . :D

I've put nearly 4,000 hours of vanilla gameplay into X4 and that's a phenomenal payback in terms of fun gameplay and immersion for one game. Nothing else has come close though X2, X3R, X3TC/AP and XR were all prior contenders in their turn (not so much FL sorry - wrong timing for me). I'm happy to continue to support Egosoft's ongoing development with volunteer duties to the extent that I can. Well done to the team!

From a technical pov, not really. Adding new stuff: cool. Changing old stuff which is just left in to not break anything: not cool.

Also: hooray for the HUD extension (gravidar on the left)

Ohhh, it's already great update.

3rd person HUD
Argon and Teladi ship update

I hope they will also update Argon and Teladi Large turret model, like they did with Paranid one.

oh and Egosoft is one of very few game developers I'm happy to throw my money at yearly DLC :)

15 bucks for a new DLC every year is peanuts.

We don’t know what paradise is like, but probably it’s blue magenta, flecked with pink. But even if it’s green and red-checked we should make the most of it. -Boron saying

I hope besides new models for existing ships there are some new old ships like Megalodon and Pteranodon. (They need them for the endgame crisis!) And maybe Terraformer CPU ships, pretty please!

The first part of the video aboard the Astrid looks like it's in VR.
Am I hallucinating? Why is nobody else commenting on that?

Well done everyone.

I was most excited just watching the change log and announcements scroll through the top right monitor.

Oh and the Pelican E looks good.

The head-camera is moving independently from the cursor. I am not into that stuff but couldn't that be just eye tracking software? I think support for that was added quite a while ago.
