Boron derelict ship, Into the unkown mission

Post by Ligator »

Boron derelict ship, Into the unkown mission is totally impossible to solve. I have wasted almost 1,5 hours cirkulating this damned ship and cant find the way in. Pls let us finish this quest somehow without having to find this supposed crack in this ship.

You've not really provided us any information that would enable us to offer you any relevant advice. Other people have completed the mission, so we're going to need at least a savegame showing how far you've got and an explanation of what you've tried, in order to be able to see why you're having so much trouble with it.

Ooops, it is a mission ship :?: :gruebel:
My Scout found a strange ship in the new Boron Sector, i think it was a Boron Miner. A Marine took it for me.

There are two - one to progress the mission (a wreck basically) and the other adds some fluff and it can be restored for the player (that miner).

One year later, I resurrect that topic (not sure if necromancy is an issue in this forum).

I have the same problem, I can't find any entrance, I can't find anything that can be repair with the space suit repair tool, I can't scan anything, I can't send marines.

Here is a video in case it helps: https://streamable.com/9g9bft

I found on Google people mentioning sending marines, I didn't managed to find a button to do it. I think it's a variant of the quest with a small mining ship.

Also, some people mention 2 ships, but I only found that giant ship.

What am I missing ?

EDIT: I spent 3 days trying, and a few minutes after making the post, I actually found the second ship ... It was very far away, on the north side while the big broken ship was at the south side. There was no guiding quest marker, random system exploration found it https://streamable.com/zluxgm

It's very confusing that there was a quest indicator "Repair > Repair Panel" on the large broken ship while there was actually nothing to do there. No indication about searching for another ship randomly at the other side of the sector.

This ship was driving me crazy, spent half an hour flying around id to find the repair panel i was supposed to find.
Turns out it will only be marked if you fly close to the mission marker sending you to the area.
seeing the ship and triggering the comms events is not enough -.-

It’s not preferred, because often two problems with the same symptoms will have different causes. This is especially true with a post that started out in one version that gets necro’d by someone using a much newer version of the game. The original bug was fixed, but a new bug may have been introduced. As such, it is almost always better to start a new thread rather than to reopen an old one.

However, this is not a bug. I don’t know what you intended to show in that video, but what you are supposed to do is park your ship and get out in your suit. If you start facing the nose of the wreck and fly in through the outer armor layers, you will find a shipping container with a lock on the back. The lock is red. Shoot it with your green repair beam and it will turn green and open the door of the shipping container. Use your suit’s loot magnet to grab the loot crate that is inside the shipping container. It contains a plot coupon. Boso Ta will analyze the plot coupon and discovers some of the history of the region.

At no point do you have to navigate any narrow spaces. Once you get past the armor you can see the shipping container from a fair distance away. If you find yourself in narrow spaces or with very short sight lines, then you have gone the wrong way.

This might help. Took me still some time even with the video to find the exact spot.

I have no recollection of any large wreck mission. (I guess it was not memorable at all.)

The medium Miner I do remember. Stumbled on it before finding the Gate that I was supposed to find. Claimed with ease. Alas, the expedition had Terran vessels and they shot my Miner. :headbang:

Using the clues in this thread, I looked for and found the lockbox in the large Boron wreck that I had always considered to be just immersion fluff - but the box was already open and empty and so a dead end - but it had not been opened by me, honest guv!
