Set all races to enemy for that station and none will dock, at least after all the ones that have already begun their journey there have arrived. And those that are docked should leave immediately.

@ Nanook: That is true only if there is another friendly Player or NPC Trading Station/Equipment Dock in sector for them to go to. They will then go and choke that one. If there is no alternative friendly destination for them, you will be stuck with them sat at and around your station(s) no matter what the settings are.

In my previously bare HQ sector where I now keep my PHQ and loads of Trading Stations/Equipment Docks (all set foe to all) for my fleet parking, I had to build another Trading Station (also used as a NPC Reception and Trading Depot) far away in sector just to lure them away from my stations. The Reception will let just one of my ships dock at a time amongst all the fluff shuttles and passenger transports. (This is one jobsfile that the S&M fraternity could usefully take a serious look at so as to stop these fluff ships outstaying their welcomes.)

Hint: There is a script ("Force NPC Undocking") which can be found in the Script & Modding Forum. Maybe that helps a little.

You can force them to undock without a script as you can do that by putting another dock/station to friend and the one they are clustering at to enemy, then once they start to move from one to the other put the station settings back again. The problem then is that they just go back to the initial station again. If you leave both/all stations as enemy they just stop and idle in mid-transit. What you need is some way of telling them their current scripted job is finished so push off!

Your station doesn't have any weapons, so why would a shooting war start? :?

Odd. I have an equpment dock and a trading station located in the old 'Avarice' sector, with a small amount of NPC traffic through there. They've been there for several game days, and nary a 'fluff' NPC has ever docked at either one. Both have f/f set to enemy for all races.

@ Nanook: Sure, you thereby prevented them going there in the first place. The OP's and my problem was that we initially used or set the stations/docks for NPC trade and now that we have all the fluff shuttles that far outnumber and impede the traders and our ships, we cannot (legally) get rid of them. We are now wise after the event!

@ mordtech: Hmm. Have you seen the price of Trading Stations/Equipment Docks? An expensive lesson by any measure!

Also only a few (say 4-5) dock at any one time and the other 20+ just sit outside waiting their turn and recycling. So an expensive but not very effective lesson!

^ point taken, i'm at the game stage where money is no longer an issue so a different perspective i suppose.. (EDIT oh i see you are as well so blow them up!) as for your 2nd point i hope this never happens to me cos i'll definatly fry the whole lot of 'em.. and just have to deal with the rep loss etc.
