I am completely new to the X3 universe so I wanted to make sure that if I bought the retail version(gogamer.com has it in the US), I would be able to resell it if I find I do not like it. Obviously, this would not be necessary if there was a proper demo but since there isn't, this would be my only alternative.
I have read the reviews and most seam very positive but $40 is alot to spend on an unknown product if there is not way to recoup some of the money you spent. Thanks
Trying out X3

Not really tech. support, so moving.
I'd also say that any rights you have to resell probably depend on the country you are in. Read the licence when you install the game and if you don't agree with them, cancel the install. You should have the right to return the game in that instance, but again, your rights will depend on the country you live and bought the game in.

It's a singleplayer game only so there shouldn't be any problem but I don't know the details of the copy protection.

All I had to do with the CD key was bung it in the installation program.giantsfan24 wrote:I am refering to sites like ebay or half.com, where you can buy/sell used games. A few games make you register the "cd-key" with your account and that cd-key can never be used again. Thats what I meant by being able to resell. Sorry for the confusion.
I don't know for sure but you could probably install it on 2 PCs at once. The game needs the DVD in to play, though, so if you resell it you won't be able to play it anymore.

On the disc version, TAGES merely makes sure you have a legitimate copy. On the Steam version, TAGES restricts you to the number of times you can install it without contacting support.NeverSnake wrote:It's a singleplayer game only so there shouldn't be any problem but I don't know the details of the copy protection.
There should be no problems reselling the retail version.

eh, I'm cheap, I bought my copies of X2, and X3:R off of an auction site, had to contact the moderators to get the key transferred, but that was the only issue I had, can't see any issues arising from X3:TC personally.
