Exactly which sector and which station?cryptonite1 wrote:some station they're trying to sell or buy stuff inside the blacklisted sectorsgnasirator wrote:what is their destination when they're violating the blacklist?
so anyone know anything more to help?
What command is the ship running when this happens?
It will be easier for gnasirator to check out the scripts in question if he has a starting point.
Still life in the old dog yet...

universal trader command, to heretic's end, Jupiter, Astroid Belt, mostly, and all three are blacklisted by me.
to any station they can sell/buy stuff in those sectors...
can anyone help me figgure out the problem of blacklisting of sectors not working?
traders seem to ignore the whole blacklist feature...
do you have to turn on and how to turn on the blacklist? i only find the "set sectors" no turn on button.
1. I use MARS with them.
2. they are all universal traders.
3. I set the blacklist.
EDIT: interesting fact is Omycron Lyrae is blacklisted too, and they NEVER go there, most commonly the three sectors I mentioned above, Jupiter, Heretic's End, Astroid Belt, and 1 or 2 others.
EDIT: just woke up this morning and one trader died...he's a level 25...sigh... he died in a Xenon sector which I also blacklisted, wth....

oh ok, so i think im doing something wrong then, so where or how do you use ur version of the blacklist sector/station feature?
EDIT1: also, seems like I lose money when set to universal traders, works fine with sector traders though. for some reason, my money gets deducted a lot when i switch my traders to universe traders. YES, i know the traders may be upgrading shield or jumpdrive etc, but no, they are fully equipped tuned, and geared. basically i run seta for 10 mins and i lose around 2 million with 3 Lotan as universal traders.
I tried stopping the traders, turning their orders to "none", still lose money, is this issue related to this script? or no? im asking because the only trader related script im using is this, and thought i should point out the issue?

this sounds so weird, as no one else has been reporting problems like yours recently so I'd ask you to make sure you have the current version of the script (if unsure, please re-download) and reinstall using the .exe in the archive. Point it to your x3tc folder for TC or your x3tc/addon folder for AP.
Please stop all traders before doing this and save the game. THEN do the reinstallation and THEN restart your traders. No need to install anything else, blacklisting is provided by default.
And please confirm you did this step by step. If those problems still occur, please upload a save somewhere so I can check it out myself.

ok got it, ill do it step by step, though i think i already did it before.
just where exactly can you set up the blacklisting for ur improved MK3 script?
or do you not have to set up at all (automatic) ?
I have the current version of the script.
currently im using only sector traders, so i can manage then not to go to dangerous sectors. unversal trader is disaster for me now
sorry if causing any confusion, just cannot really figure it out...

It sounds as though you have a bad installation, Cryptonite.
Mk3 Improvement overwrites files vanilla autotrade scripts. It also overwrites Bonus Pack Blacklist Manager scripts.
Therefore, you must reinstall Mk3 Improvement *after* every time that you install the Bonus Pack or verify files in Steam.

The blacklist feature is replaced by Mk3 Improvement's blacklist feature.
That is what Mk3 Improvement does -- it replaces vanilla scripts with the same names.
You will still see a blacklist feature, in the same place. But it will be Mk3 Improvement's blacklist, if you have installed it correctly.

there's none. If you installed improved mk3 as latest, you have the new blacklist feature.
It works similarly to the vanilla blacklist, too. But only on the surface. There are some internal improvements and it is adopted to work with my scripts.
Simply try if it works. You could set up a local trader with trade range 0 and blacklist the start sector. It shouldn't find any trades then ...

Am I missing something obvious? I'm trying to make my traders start at level 8 as described on page 52 of this thread.
editing 1500-L044.xml
I can not find any value that seems to correspond to starting level. The only values I can see that are set to 1 are threat values of M5 ships and Gun Towers, and there is no id 16 at all as far as I can tell.
Also, do I need to use the X3 editor to change this file or will any decent XML or text editor do?

Typo fixed on page 52.
You will need to unpack the .pck. You should be able to do that with something like 7-zip (X3 Editor will work as well).
