So "Hail to the king, baby?". He can demand that on his private birthday party - but not on something paid by the tax payers. He really seemed to have missed the century ...

irony, while he might speak all fine and charm but his action that affect california isn't good in the past time again and again, worse and worse for california before Trump send national guard, I think it's not Trump blame alone but Newsom is on blame as well as past as governor, create opportunities for trump to take it. Wave foreign while burning USA Flag in land of USA isn't help good cause as well, it's just push USA citizen to support Trump even USA Citizen don't like Trump but still vote or support Trump, I suspect it's similar to germany before WW2, where lot of poor people got anger and gave power to dictator, now USA is in similar, where not lot of middle class but lot of poor people who got anger when life isn't improve, democratic party didn't help at all but sacrifice Citizen for foreign to get more vote for staying power. Democratic party and Republican party seem like opposite yet work together in hidden on way to dictator power in disguise, Democratic Party very good friendly, charming yet action of in power do not help USA Citizen but worse as time went by, meanwhile Republican are not very friendly, charming, very hardship talk as if dictator yet action do something and in some way do help Citizen.Incubi wrote: ↑Wed, 11. Both democratic party and Republican working together in disguie or hidden even they did not know it, that cause and leading sheep to slaughter. (I am very suspect there might be shadow organization, evil people in group/power manipulate Democratic Party and Republican Party to harm general population but it's difficult to show evidence when they doing all secret careful in long plan goal (might be since 1970, I believe that when problem start small, then add up little bit by little bit, worse and worse as time went for general population people or at least for US citizen general), that is my instinct. They just use law, policy as tool to control and influence population for long time.

there's a fascist threat, and a white nationalist threat
people who vote for fascists are fascists whether they admit it or not
people who say they just follow orders are as well
it's true now, it was true in 30s and it's true in Russia

That is pretty much all you need to consider to know you are wrong. Instinct is really good at keeping most monkeys alive in the jungle, but exceptionally bad at successfully interpreting any situation in modern life correctly. Also, any charlatan worth their salt knows how to manipulate people's instinct to their advantage.humility925 wrote: ↑Thu, 12. Jun 25, 12:53 [conspiracy theory]... that is my instinct ... If your instinct tells you something, take a step back, look at reliable sources and reconsider (and no, facebook, telegram and youtube don't count as "reliable").

Reminds me of Biden saying re. covid "It's a pandemic of the unvaccinated". It wasn't that simple.fiksal wrote: ↑Thu, 12. Jun 25, 18:19 there's no foreign threat in US plain and simple

Painting 77 million people in the electorate as fascist is equally not that simple.
I keep hoping that liberals and Democrats will realize that they are shooting themselves in the foot by maintaining such "simple" attitude.
I would love to see a Democrat or an Independent win the next election. Alas, such rhetoric as you espouse will not achieve that result. You will only see a hardening of opposition and loss of support. Perhaps that's what you want?

I'm too busy looking at troops on the streets of the supposed leader of the free world, sent by someone who pardoned actual insurrectionists. They are fashing hard enough already.
I hope Newsom wins the court case today.

For one I am neither Democrat nor Liberal.
Capital letters.
I am also not in politics so I don't need to be sugar coating or be politically correct to "the other side".
But the real question, am I actually wrong in my characteristic?
Are these people not sympathizing with fascism?

Re: Trump Presidency
Your characterization is not entirely wrong — but it is incomplete and overly broad.
There are definitely fascist elements in U.S. politics today, and they should absolutely be called out. But assuming that 77 million people knowingly or ideologically support fascism is not just inaccurate — it risks undermining efforts to build coalitions strong enough to defeat actual authoritarianism.
Many voters are driven by fear, misinformation, habit, or protest — not a coherent embrace of fascist values. Treating them all as fascists doesn’t educate, it alienates. It is politically self-defeating.
If you want to stop authoritarianism, you have to be more persuasive than self-righteous.

Yeah, except you knew what you were buying and you bought it anyway. So don't sit here and preach like we somehow made you do this. YOU chose this path. I do not give a rats ass if you want to be convinced to not do it again. You, a supposed Vietnam vet, should be old enough to know right from wrong and if you want to chose fascism over freedom, thats on you.

@Observe,
There is one small point your maybe missing, There might no longer be any free and fair elections, If Trump can order Troops to one city, what is to stop him from order others to other cities? then control the polling stations. and only allow those that vote for Trump allowed in? Who will stop him from doing that? congress? the senate? After all, what have they done so far? nothing.
You voted in for this monster? you should have predicted the outcome. Things are spiralling out of control. IF Saturday becomes a bloodbath, what happens then? And there is a good chance of that happening, Trump has pretty much said, if there is a protest, there will be violence.
But this is the monster you helped to get into power, knowing full well, what he was like in the first term. Yet you gave him another term. When Harris was the fat better choice. Yet not once have you really said why you didn't vote for her. She wouldn't have done any of this. things would have been far more stable. Now American values and democracy is at risk. And it may continue to escalate farther. In that sense, you should have known this was coming. and plenty of those that votes for him, and felt the ill effects of Trump's first term. Your all to blame, Yet this monster is in power, and he will not give it up without a fight.

I do feel that Saturday will turn out to be a bloodbath, if that happens, Trump will declare martial law and lock things down. If that happens, game over. Trump wins. I suspect this is what he will be banking on.

Question: Are you in favor of illegals being immune to the law? After all, they are criminals by virtue of being here illegally. How would you like to see the immigration laws changed?matthewfarmery wrote: ↑Thu, 12. You don't know what Saturday is?
Its Trump's birthday, he going to do a military parade, He has said, that if there are going to be any protests then, there will be serious trouble.
What has that got to do with immigration?

Huh, it's almost like they're not just trying to meet their quota of arrests. And a convicted felon who pardon insurrectionists sending the Marines to us streets ISN'T at the top of most peoples concerns? They're seeming more worried about undocumented than the military takeover of your country by an actual fascist.

Even if a local court rules against Trump regarding marines, Trump and co might not even abide by it.
What happens next? things will get even more ugly? it goes to the supreme court? But if they might rule in favour for Trump, and even if they do somehow rule against him, then Trump will lash out at them. And ignore it anyway.Hegseth Won’t Say If He’ll Follow Court Order
“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth refused to say whether he would follow the courts if they ruled against President Donald Trump’s deployment of active-duty Marines to Los Angeles,” Politico reports.
Said Hegseth: “What I can say is we should not have local judges determining foreign policy or national security policy for the country.”

Well, when the response from certain "people" to invasion is to just surrender and let the bad guys take and do what they want, then I can't say I'm really surprised there's no outrage over it. By all accounts and appearances, the ones that are more worried about black and brown people are very much pro fascism anyway.

It's like they're trying to ape Belarus or somewhere, forcibly removing an LA Senator from a Noem event in LA. Now Hegseth says they may not follow the law - unsurprising with this lot.
Apparently trump promised "big punishment" for anyone who dares protest during his birthday parade. Typical despot behaviour.
