Just the impetus I needed to start a new run-through as my last Enshrouded run rather limped to a halt in Blackmire when it became rather stale for me (I'm not a parkour gameplay type).

It looks really good, even on my old ass computer. They have added a lot of new vegetation and forests now feel more like forests, and the lighting is pretty nice looking at times. A lot of new loot on mobs that I had stopped looting, so I'm having to check to see if there are new drops also a new NPC the Barber they are pretty easy to get, but there is a catch to getting them, not going to spoil it though. Also, some new traps to avoid, but I've only had a short time to play it so far. The only issue I have had apart from all my loot was missing the first time a started the game, just had to do a restart to sort that out, was that I have been playing V-Rising and that game's loot key is F while Enshrouded it is E damn pain in the butt. :D

I'm not a fan of parkur-like challenges either and hence used pickaxes and/or an altar and build stairs to get where I'm suppose to go ;-) However, it's the best looking game I've encountered so far and I'm a keen builder, too. Todays update did a lot eye-candy, another survivor and new quest. The only "downside" is that I have to farm all my weapons again as only those have gem slots.

The stalker games enhanced upgrade is apparently free for owners of the games. Will release soon on May 20, 2025. They probably should have charged something for it in my opinion.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition will be available May 20, 2025 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on GOG, Epic Games Store, and Steam.

All owners of the game will receive a separate edition of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition in their Steam and GOG libraries, which will be available for download immediately. If you do not have the complete collection, you will receive the updated version only for the games you have in your library.

If you don't have any classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games in your library and if you want to buy the games or the collection, you'll get the classic three games for free when you purchase S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition.

Oh, nice. I've been meaning to play those games forever. Now would be a good time for me to take a poke at them... if I can tear myself away from X4...

Agreed. Developers should see more revenue from their work. "Free for people who paid $3.99 ten years ago" is a pretty sweet deal for me, but I'm uncertain it's fair to the people who put in the labor.

If your playing stalker enhanced might want to try different settings than default. Makes the game look way clearer and better.

-Turn motion blur all the way down
- Depth of field off
- Set Antialiasing to FXAA
- Set Anistrophic Filtering to max

- Disable Global Illumination (disabling this allows you to enable SSAO)
- Set SSAO mode to HBAO, and SSAO quality to High
- Enable FSR Sharpness and set it to max
- set FSR to Native

Someone also posted

Anti-aliasing off
- FSR on with sharpening on at 100% and set to "Native"
(FSR set to Native with sharpening functions as a form of anti-aliasing)
- In AMD Adrenaline (AMD's GPU driver) I enabled "Radeon Image Sharpening" for the game
and set it to 100%. Nvidia Control Panel should have the option for sharpening as well but
it's been a couple years since I used it so I'm not sure what they call it.

Tainted Grail - The Fall Of Avalon released 1.0 today and thus left early access.

Deliver At All Costs was released as well.

Great job of both teams hitting the 1.0!

Yes, I bought it three quarters of a year ago in Early Access. It reminds me of a rather dark and relative hard version of Skyrim. I'll probably have to play it soon. :)

But I'm still a bit stuck in Enshrouded and am currently testing Rising World.

So I stumbled onto a video of someone playing the Witcher 3 for the first time and I decided to instal it and play it again as I hadn't played it in some time, the last game save for it was in 2016. Anyway when you instal the game it asks if you want to put a link to start the game on the desktop, I passed and decided I would just use the start link, it is a GOG game after all so no DRM. I click on the start link to the game does it start the game, hell no that link leads to another link that then goes to another link which then goes to another link and does that start the game, again no, that one opens up GOG galaxy and once that opens it acts as a link to another programme called red launcher and even that doesn't start the game, as that is just basically an advert for CD Project red's games, if you want to play the game you have to click on another link in that launcher to start the game. I mean, what the hell, I just want to start and play the game, why do I need to go through all of this BS just to be able to do just that. A lot of people say hey it doesn't matter it doesn't really mean anything, but here's the thing I changed that second link so that it bypasses all the BS and launches straight into the game, no GOG Galaxy, no red launcher and no half a dozen other links and the game starts around a minute faster. I wish they would just get rid of all of these darn different game launchers.

:D A lot of GOG games do that, but its also the Game producers making bizarre launchers with ads and overlays ..
Settings for GOG Galaxy has a do not run when windows starts up.
Install a game, and use the GOG Galaxy "Play" button once. Endure the crap, get the games setting done, and more importantly the background games initial setup needs to happen in the background. Then quit the game and quit Galaxy (But leave it a minute or so to let the Galaxy service die off (you can check for it in Task Manager).
Now go to the Games installation folder, and find its gamename.exe (you might have to find it in a Bin subfolder or similar).
Right click the game .exe, and choose "Send to .. Desktop" (on windows 11 you have to expand the More options of the right click context menu).
Now you just launch the games .exe directly from its desktop icon shortcut you made, not via GOG Galaxy, or any of the games chained "Launchers"

Its a pain but I have got used to doing this all the time now.
NMS.exe is in a Bin/ folder.
X4.exe is in the root of the installation folder.
BG3.exe is in a Bin/ folder.
Cyberpunk2077.exe is in Bin/x64/ folder. This one is similar to Witcher, it also has a chained REDLauncher.exe, you avoid it by just launching the Cyberpunk2077.exe.

I only load Galaxy to check for game updates, then quit it. Those Achievements etcetera are just "Good boy" chocolate drops to entice you into running the desktop advertising billboard. Its getting more and more like Steam as time goes on.

Funny - never encountered that. Must've been connected to the fact that I don't use "startmenus" or "desktop icons" to start games for ages. Nowadays I use Lutris or Steam (for the very few games I have there) and their favourite system or search system to quickly find & start my games. GOG Galaxy I only use for the X4 betas.

I'm quite intrigued by Dune Awakening because I love the theme, exploring and building. However, after some "research" I've decided not to buy it (at least for now) because it's not casual player friendly. When not online at least once a week (possible to stretch that to a fortnight) everything you do not have in your backpack gets wiped. Soi if you go on hollidays for say 3 weeks, your base including all the machinery, storage and vehicles are gone.

Maybe in the future Funcom will find a solution to allow casual game play in which case I'll reconsider.

Seems things are already going downhill for the game, from steam forums, some servers are already been locked, due to people quitting. They just doing the main story and quit, or dying in the deep desert and quitting. So it looking like the future of the game is in serious doubt. Even though the devs are suppose to have a 10 year plan for the game!?!?

I would certainly wait and see, but from what I have read, things aren't looking good.

Edit

If your solo, there is no end game. as that is just PVP, building a base is hard, getting the materials and such. but after that, and the story, its over.

Oblivion remastered

Far Cry 2 - dialogue seems sped up even at 60 fps cap?

X4

Dragon Age Veilguard a bit. Dialogue is a bit weird like people say. Surprisingly easy to run the game.

Dune Awakening ,,, If you have a fully fuelled generator it would provide protection for around 20 real time days.... Don't leave your vehicles outside base and unsheltered.
Real PC Gamers are never away from their Life Support for more than 8 hrs ......

I'm pretty sure it's 2 weeks, i.e. 14 days, and you have to pay taxes every fortnight without any grace period. Besides, there is already a lot of pvp ganking going on, from stream sniping to cheats like infinite life. Would love to play it but atm I watch streams and wait how the game play develops. ;-)

My biggest issue with Dune and probably the reason I will never install it is battleeye, anyone who gives a third party access to their Kernel is insane.
