They said the same thing about Britain at the start of WW2, how can such a small nation stand up to the might of Germany, or even when Argentina invaded the Falklands, everyone was like, it's so far away from the UK how can they possibly win, or even recently why is Ukraine fighting against Russia, they don't stand a chance. Never say never. Never take anything for granted. I'm not saying Iran can or would win a war against Israel, I'm just saying things happen.

How about half of the Middle East, remember it's not just Iran that does not like or get along with Israel. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter as in war there is never any real winners, there's just losers and the dead.

Sure there are many players that dislike Israel, but support for Hezbollah and Iran is rarely found outside the Shia community. Don’t forget that Saudi Arabia and Iran have their own little cold war going on, which also involves the Houthis, who are hated by everyone who isn’t aligned with Iran and supported by everyone who is minus China.

Then there is the clusterf that is Lebanon itself. I have read a bit about the civil war, but it is one of these conflicts that gets more and more confusing the further you get into it. One thing that is fairly clear, even in Lebanon itself there are a lot of people who really do not like Hezbollah and are most likely more than willing to work with Israel to some degree to get rid of them. I mean, just look at the map regarding religious groups in the country and that only covers one axis of the conflict, not ethnic or family ties.

It seems as if under the coming administration America might take a more active role in the war in Gaza, likely involving hands on American military action in the form of a bombing campaign potentially not limited to Gaza, but across the entire region as Trump promises to widen and intensify the conflict significantly should the hostages not be released by the time he takes office.

I fully expect Trump to increase the tensions and killings in the middle east before long, problem is, he will say its an official act and can't be touched. He wants blood on his hands, expect this war to get far, far worse, before it gets better.
