Streaming in 1080p is always a semi stable configuration it seems. No matter which streamers I was watching lately (big or small) they all have problems streaming smoothly no matter the actual performance. The little chat to the right is additionally drawing immense performance on the viewer side.
I am waiting for the YouTube upload and rewatch certain parts because I am 100% sure my Computer and Internet connections couldn't keep up sometimes on my side

Lets hope. I understand the arguements, I hear what the guy is saying. I have streamed before and know how it affects performance, I obsess over fps, temps etc. But if the game goes from 100+ fps to 20 fps I see warning signs. And my computer is nothing like the streamers.
I am a 'tweakoholic', and have been tweaking the elder scrolls games for example for decades.

Watching the stream now, skipped ahead a bit to catch up to Live. I'm really impressed with what I'm seeing so far.

My only concern is how much of the FPS impact is the game, and how much is the stream due to the compromises Ant has had to make. I admit, it is quite painful to watch when the fps dips.

Streaming aside, he is at the recommended spec level with a 6700 - not sure if it's a K and overclocked, I assumed not as he doesn't mention it - and a 980Ti which is comparable to a 1070. It'd be interesting to see what the CPU.GPU load looks like.

It's really interesting to see this hybrid Rebirth and X3 combo. I've not played Rebirth in an age, but have a current X3AP game on the go. Looking forward to Friday - just need to get the game ordered tomorrow! Steam or GoG not decided yet, leaning towards the latter.

Regardless of quality of stream we did see that stability of game is much better than XRs. This was one of my main concerns.... There was crash and some problems but nothing compared to XR.... I guess I'll ne buying game Friday

He is streaming by frame capture, that means he is streaming through software(CPU DOING ALL THE WORK) and massive main memory swaps for each frame bogging the memory access down and adding extra latency to the CPU wait states.

Almost any GPU now has encoding/decoding done natively on board and streaming is done directly from the GPU, his system is processing each frame twice once by the GPU then once by the CPU which also needs to compress it at 1080p in real time.

I didn't watch the whole stream just sort of spot checked off and on, but what I did see gave me that feeling I had when I first found XTC all those years ago. Can't wait to play this one, gonna be a treat. Good job Egosoft.

My pc's better so I'm not worried, but if you're using just under minimum reqs, prepare for single digits possibly.

This guys stream is MUCH smoother than obsidianants, ok maybe I was jumping the gun.

If the game runs well, and has all the features we've seen, and it works, we are in for a masterpiece.

Well that stream went on for quite a while, and Im impressed. I only saw 3 bugs.

1. another bigger ship pushed him through the station geometry and he blew up
2. when trying to land he moved down too quickly and clipped through the floor
3. the auto pilot flew straight into an asteroid.

Thanks for the information, I wasn't aware of the full impact of streaming by that method. I was a little behind on the stream - popped away a few times - and he did later (for me) mention that the game was much smoother when he wasn't streaming.

I'm running an older 2600k, but overclocked to a modest 4.4ghz, 32gb RAM, RAID0 SATA SSD's and a 1070, so I hope my game experience will be nice and smooth. I'll build a new rig if not...though nothing taxes it at the 1920x1200 resolution I use currently...obviously based on my personal game library of course.

I can only see this stream if I have the link. It doesnt show up on searches. Is it because of the language? Anyone know how to search youtube/twitch without any filters? Or is it some kind of legal garbage stopping me seeing it?
