I purchased from Egosoft directly so they'd save the 15% that Steam takes just to see that they charge $90 on their website vs I could have gotten it on steam for $74. wtf guys, biggest slap to the face ever.

Yeah, I don't really get that. Through the ES store, Collectors Ed is ~AU$120, but via Steam, it's only just over AU$100.

For contrast with all these "I already preordered" replies, I'd say: I will definitely not buy it till I try it, after some awful experience with X:Rebirth.

Same here I purchased through the EGOSOFT shop at 74.39 euros (got billed £66.20) and now on STEAM it's £65.99 reduced by 7% to £61.37. I know it's only cost me about £5 more (which is nothing really), but I can see why some people might get angry about it... and this is before the game has even been released!

EDIT : Agree with poster below... I got zillions of hours of enjoyment from X3 TC/AP and so the +£5 is nothing for the ride really. Taking the family to a film in the cinema (+ popcorn & drinks) for just a 2 hour film often costs more....

I ordered the collectors edition from the egosoft shop. Does anybody know how long it takes until I receive the key for steam? I ordered half an hour ago and did not receive anything yet except of the paypal confirmation.

Take a look at your spam folder! That happen to me also, I got now my keys!

unfortunately it wasn't in my spam folder either. I guess gmx blocked it completely (I had the same problem before where mails from a specific address wouldn't even arrive at the spam folder). I just sent a mail to order@egosoft.com to resolve this.

edit: My key was now mailed to another email address.

Just showed off the wicked X4: Foundations trailer to a bunch of gamers today and ran them though a quick and dirty from Kile's booboo to X3AP. Hope it gets them out of thinking a space game has to have a Millenium Falcon.

However, now I am not very pleased. I live in Belarus and the price for my country is indexed in Steam. It is 29,99$ when Russia, which is on my right, costs less than $ 19. I think that this is unfair, based on the fact that in Belarus the standard of living is no higher than in Russia.
Buy for 29,99$, I will not fundamentally.

There was no such discount in the first place, so nothing has been "dropped". I'm not sure where you got the idea that there was.
