Yes, but XRM is already a dangerous place. Throwing this in would not only destabilise the well-crafted universe, but it's also heavily bugged from what I remember of playing it.
All i want is the system takeover feature. From what i read here, it looks like both mods RRF makes a mess, so i'll only activate system takeover feature(since its features are customizable)

Thanks :D

Lazcorp claim sector or STO sector overtake would be what you're looking for. Both are pretty light. Improved races was more for a full-fleshed war feel.

STO is outdated(i think) and lazcorp doesnt have any tax system or sort, making sector claims kinda pointless.

Have you got any more suggestions, my friend?

STO does indeed still work. I had it running some months ago when I was playing X3AP. The AI building can be a bit funny, but in all honesty I've never had an issue with it. If you're running XRM chances are the AI won't build non-vanilla buildingz but that's not really that much of a big deal.

This mod was fun when I played it, the bugs just not got fixed however then someone else done a spin-off version of this which was just as if not more riddled with bugs.

Hmmm...wonder if I can get this working right on Litcubes. While Lits is an excellent reimagining of AP it is a little too tame for my tastes. Who knows, perhaps I can tune it up a little while I am at it.

Have you not yet met the OCV? Other then that im not sure LU never seems tame tame to me, could always find action when i look.

Im not sure what would happen if you put IR in LU - i dont see it ending well :D

Oh, the OCV are a fun way to get ships destroyed for sure, but a 360 lasertower ring of fire on their entry point removes their ungodly shield advantage and limits losses to a few disposable fighters.

It is more the rest of the universe that is pretty boring due to the 'Omnicron Channel Treaty' that pretty much removes all war except against pirates, Xenon, and the OCV. Even the Terran's are pretty much calm.

Perhaps just using Karma will balance it out, but I thought I may as well use both Karma and IR like I used to (Karma is a little script of mine that makes an enemy to attack your assets each time you destroy a ship...piracy gets very interesting, very fast).

Just dropped Karma to http://www.filedropper.com/karmar10 and it should be there for 30 days or so. Feel free to rehost if you want :D

The latest rendition of Karma/ARI is not ready for public consumption yet so this is the old one that was released here before.

Finally got all the mods I wanted working in my game. Shoe horned Improved Races in there as well, it's working but DAM it adds a ton of ships. All of my Sectors are patrolled by fleets of 100s of ships, Pirates invade with M1's and stuff. Every sector is a WAR ZONE it seems lol. So I'm guessing the Extra ships added by XRM are being multiplied by IR.

So does anyone who uses both XRM and IR have advice on what to set IR too so you get a bit more realistic game and not every sector is a non-stop battle between massive fleets?

Hello!
How to install this on Linux+Steam? I don't see any cat/dat files so I am unable to do fake patch. Is there any other way? I have never seen spk file before. I tried to google "x3ap improved races linux" and things like that but did not find anything usefull.
Thank you

Only mods made for Litcube's Universe are compatible with Litcube's Universe. This one is definitely not.

.spk files require Cycrow's Plugin Manager for installation, as stated right below the download link in the first post. I don't know how well the plugin manager works with Linux though, if it works at all.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am :D

If you have a Windows box at your disposal, you can install the Plugin Manager there. Then you can right-click the SPK files for Improved Races and select "Export to Zip". This will convert the SPK file to a ZIP file which can be extracted and installed manually on your Linux box.
