I love challenges, believe me, but not such, when i even have no chance to react at. And the bombers are this kind of a threat. Also, where is the logic behind this: A mighty, even if a light, Destroyer has to flee against a single, a SINGLE, bomber, just not to be shot to peaces? I had similar encounter in a Pirate sector, when one Gladiator has almost managed to shot my Boreas down - it has had 30% of hull left ( 6 Mio shields + 4 Mio hull = 10 mio hitpoints has been destroyed within seconds - and what will happend, when there´d be a single M7 or couple of Corvetes? This is not fighting, this is a slaughter, exact the same way, a player can destroy whole AI fleets with a single M7M. If i could, i would probably have changed this "bomber" thing to my gusto to test the new balace, but i have no idea how to mod X3, and i do not count myself above others, who seem to think this balance in game is correct - so, i´m searching for solutions, but all of them are very similar to what you have wrote in your signature - and this is not a challenge for anyone, imho

Thanks for the tips. I do not have any actual problems to stop AI from intruding my "Dark Void" sector ( i actually wanted to put my HQ in this kind of "dark" sector to let it appear beautifull when the sunshines of that small star would fall onto the station while docking off my complex - which is there too - a small one, HQ only ).
My main problem is that a single bomber, not even a Frigate like a M7M, can take out 3 of my ships and i CAN´T do anything about it if i am in sector. The Bombers are supposed to be "a cost effective solution" vs. Destroyers and alike, as i understand it, but they just "bomb" anythin in their way. Even if i would have unleashed my fighters against that small fleet of Xenon, they all would have died horribly - and i would have lost about the same amount of money - 10 x full equiped Eclipse... about 100 milions. This is what i really hate. On the other side, i used to have fights of the same fleet OOS, in the same sector, when non of my ships took significant damage - but this could have happend due to the CODEA carrier beeing present.
As i said, i prefer not to use any other scripts like Moskoto or Mars; in that "IS" battle, the frame rates were quite underwhelming, since i´ve got a small complex + phq + a decent amount of military and civilian ships, and the NPC´s were present too, even Yaki were fighting the Xenons, lol.
I haven´t finished PHQ plot, i´ve simply bought my own - i hate it to work for those corps...
I´ve started as an "Argon Peasekeeper", so all my "non Argon" ships are captured ones. Otherwise i wouldn´t have bought them.
And now comes a very funny part: The same fleet as before, 1X + 4L´s entered my system when i was, again, micromanaging my fleet. But this time i´ve ordered my freshly captured "K" to stay right near the East gate, and what do you thing has happend? Right, the X got almost instantly destroyed, and the Ls followed. I thought, wow....but then i saw that the "K" was still fireing long after the threat was neutralised. It appeared, that that pesky "X" has managed to fire a couple of volleys of his deadly Tomahawks, but the destroyer simply shot them down - with its overwhelming "Dark Matter Cannons" which were set to "missile defence". Yea... that was exactly the reason i wanted a Xenon capital ship to be mine. Because nothing can ever pass through THIS mighty beam laser defence! For now, i´ve even exchange it´s front laser and put Dark Matter Cannons in there, i wan´t to see, if the missile defence will work, while it´s attacking ships head on.
And just to continiue my reports of my battles against the Xenon plague:
When i thought i could have a moment to breath and relax, i´ve been proven wrong, and a might "I" Destroyer jumped through the East Gate, accompanied by standard escors ( a "C", Corvetes, fighters ). Now, with my ships flying all around the sector, restocking ammunition and guns ( "IS" fights lead to nasty equipment losses if the hull is damaged, it seems ), i had a hell of a fight. First time i was simply destroyed by the "Dark" cannons while flying my Centaur Prototype. I had to reload and behave a bit smarter. In the end of this fight, i haven´t lost any of my ships, but my Boreas, and my own ship, where heavily damaged ( 30% each, iirc ).
The captured "K" saved my day, again. After this experience, i´ve dismissed all my smaller ships, docked them to my HQ, and let the "K", escorted by one "Q" hold position. This battle was a thrill, it was fun, and it was a success, once i´ve decided to act more sofisticated than the previous time.
So long, i´ll be back with reports on my battle tactics as soon as i´ll get a new visit from Xenon, which should take about 1-2 hours of game play, i think^^
