AI doesn't understand the threat.
Not sure if it goes here because it's not really an error, but it sure is malfunction.
I'm not experienced in X3 at all, I just started playing properly, trying to make my trading company but lately there's Pirate Base appeared in Ore Belt system and my ship is trying to persistently trade with it even though laser tower near it kills it. I set pirates as enemies in my general settings and transmitted it to all ships so pirate base is shown as enemy base but ship is still trying to do this. What can I do about it?
I'm playing with XRM but I don't think it's linked in any way.

Unfortunately it is fairly well known that Laser Towers (LTs) do not usually switch from foe to neutral when its owning station does - that happens in vanilla too.
I am told this might work if you are on good terms with the Pirates as well as being allowed to land at the station owning the hostile LT(s). Make a Global command that Pirates are friends and send that to all properties. Stay out of sector yourself but send another ship of yours remotely to be in scanner range (but not LT weapon range) of the LT and wait a while. It might turn neutral.
If that does not work then either destroy the LT and then find a hacking station mission (lightbulb icon) within 3 or so jumps of the sector to make the Pirate Base neutral again, or just destroy the LT and Pirate Base completely. If you leave even a neutral Pirate Base there, it will occasionally spawn hostile pirate ship patrols that may attack your assets no matter how good your reputation with the Pirates may be.
This is gameplay so I am moving this to the Universe forum.

Just because you set them as enemy doesn't mean you can't still dock with it. You have to actually shoot the base to make it turn red that way so they remove your docking rights, even though you are KOS many pirate bases are still blue/dockable. Just kill it as Alan suggest if you don't care about pirate rep.

Time to invest in some capital ships then.Rajhin wrote:I don't have strong enough ship to kill it, all I have from battle ships is one buster, my fleet is strictly freighters.
Anyway, I see, I just don't get why is there double standerd in letting me dock but still killing me on sight.
As for the double standard? Sometimes scripts in X are glitchy. Don't read anything else into it.

Pick up a few Wasps, and some Silkworms and spam them at the LT's. It'll take quite a few Silkworms, but they'll take care of them.
Of course, if you have a few Remote Guided Warheads those will also work.
And it's the fact that the LT's are on different fire control than the stations. They're owned by the stations, but not by the pirate faction. So they don't change.
Of course if you have the cash you can just buy a bigger ship.

Because they're pirates. They'll take your money but not think twice about shooting you. BTW, this situation only occurs with pirates. If any of the major races are mad enough to shoot you on sight, they most definitely won't let you dock in their stations.Rajhin wrote:...

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

As others have said, Laser Towers are not always friendly, even if the Pirate Station is. Those towers are automated defenses. Maybe the Piirates just don't want to pay to have the software updated?Rajhin wrote:I don't have strong enough ship to kill it, all I have from battle ships is one buster, my fleet is strictly freighters.

Buy missiles, spam the laser towers with them, hack your way back into the station.
