Yes nice work on the variants but personalty I find the asp to look better as the base version I like that one that way but the other r very cool

All the vanilla ships look so passive and almost sheepish that it makes me wanna cry so these new ones are frigging great with their spikes and forward wings. I cant wait to try them out.

this is just amazing....I sort of hope rebirth comes out a bit late to give me more time to enjoie this...

XTC is a perfect way to say goodby to the X old generation and or to enjoie it to its maximum capability

It would be cool if in a future version of xtc the gate links back to the commonwealth shut down and this new area of space had to surivive on its own but was untouched by the events of the supernova preceeeding X:Rebirth, it would be a good reason to roleplay and play both XTC and Rebirth at the same time to see how in xtc the culture/races stayed the same but in Rebirth they changed in to whatever ego has planned. From a roleplay perspective, im not asking for major plots etc lol
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

Truth be told now that I see the asp better I do like it a lot more

On another note I hope to see rebirth trip on its face and just does not come out I love the xtended mod but I guess their always must be somethi ng newer so I will play xtended way longer then it takes rebirth to come out as well a supernova makes no since especially after xtended were the terrains built a gate and they could turn gates on and off but this is a mod so guess it doesn't have to make since for them rebirth that is

I think all xtended ships look good especially the tiapan though and just wanted to say thanks again

Wow, following your advice I've been playing XTC vanilla for some time now (Terran Defender, several stations by now, 13 destroyed Xenon Ps and 5 destroyed Xenon Qs, made a few not so ideal in-game decisions resulting in loss of money however so progress could have been faster, but lI am learning) and:
I think that never before I have had so much fun with a game for such a long period of time (even huntin' Darkspawn for short term fun and the grand Baldur's Gate saga back then are now second place).
And that does mean something because since those games I've seen some and done some.

This game is my thing.
So, great compliments to everybody involved. I think you guys are angels, either from heaven or hell.

If the mod is even better, what will I do? I know: I should get involved and help.
So, guys, if you need any help, pm me. I check the forum every couple of days. I'm the creative guy, never short on ideas. Plots, maps, story, architecture, environment. Not so much actual programming yet, though.

Anyway, by now I noticed something with vanilla:
In system map, if you click somewhere to use autopilot-flight it sometimes puts your speed meter to maximum but actual speed just reaches a certain, much lower, level. Say, my enhanced Jaguar (Terran plot loot) can reach speed max 602, in the described circumstances it sometimes only reaches 169.
Maybe you want to look into that.

My today's question (sorry, it is still not clear to me):
Does the Xtended mod involve all the vanilla plots or is it completely different in terms of story?

I think you are slightly going off on the wrong angle lol

Not to worry as you are a newby. X3TC is the vanilla game, XTC is a mod that uses the base game but is in fact almost a compltly new game in itself as XTC has its own unique universe (which answers your question, the vanilla plots are not available.)

XTC is created by a group of dedicated fans not by Egosoft the X3 developer although Ego do like to steal some of the great fan made models etc ;)

as for the ship speed issue that only happens if you have commanded a slower ship to follow you. if so the ship you are in will travel 1/ms slower than the top spedd of the following ship.
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

stolen with permission ... so actually not stolen at all ;) Just want to counter the build up of the standard developers-are-bad-greedy-persons mood that you find in other games.

Not necessarily, by the way. I recall that sort of behaviour - ship's max speed on docking approaches being way lower than actual stats show - from a lot of modded game sessions. Even back from X3-Reunion with XTM .73.. I am not sure what causes that, but it is a fairly random existing facet that may pop up time to time. All I know (from player perspective) is that is occurs with ships that are modded in (and even then, not all of them!) or were modded into reunion.

True I saw the same thing in vanilla reunion and Terran conflict

Just wondering will we be seeing the xeon using CPU ships. I don't know why I just love that ship if so hopefully it will be beefed up since it is xeon

This is an unusual post, but our SE scripter has problems in RL that have resulted in him having to resign from the team after approx 4 weeks absence.

So this is a call for help to the community.

XTC 2.0 is pretty much finished except for some unfinished SE work and the 24hr crash that has been mentioned before. What we need is an emergency scripter or two for about 3-4 weeks to just finish off the last of the scripting so we can release.

Obviously an experienced scripter like LV, Cycrow, or Gazz would be perfect, but I know these guys are busy with their own work (although if any of them feel like lending a hand short term....).

Basically we need someone who knows their way around the SE and has not just found out about "Thereshallbewings" for a few weeks work.

Any takers?

It might help if you could describe some of the things that you need to have done. That way, people with specific understanding of your specific issues could respond.

Well obviously the highest priority is to find what is causing the 24 hour lockup, beyond that:

1. New shields need to be re-ordered in the index as they have the wrong priorities atm. While the re-ordering does not need to be done by the scripter, adjusting our eqip scripts for ships and stations does.

2. Active spawn and behavior scripts for Xenon, Kha'ak, and pirates need to be finished and balanced.

3. Active sector monitoring for mil ships needs to be finished and balanced against all scripts in 2.

4. Lightweight military and police response scripts to back up 3 need to be written and balanced with 3 and 2.

Those are the major things I can remember off the top of my head.

I would make a new thread advertising for help incase many dont check this thread, im sure the mods will forgive you this once!

This needs to be sorted though soon so i can have an XRM AP game on one rig and an XTC game on my second rig similtaniously lol ;) Cross universe empires are the way forward! ;P

A german friend of mine knows some talented scripters. Have you alreday asked for help in the german forum ? If not, do you want me to ask him to do so ?

I can also ask in the french forum.
If brute force doesn't solve your problems, then you aren't using enough

Jack08 from XTL has jumped into the breach to help out with scripting so we are now back on track. Also the 24 hour bug has been found and fixed. For those of you who are interested it was a bad check in a script causing an infinite loop bug.

Which is even bigger than a belt circumnavigating a fat lass - kinda scary.
