[Mod]X2 Ship Callback Mod V2 MK2 [v0.01b] [14/04]

This is the Mk 2 version of my X2 Ship Callback Mod mod that can be found here :: http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=246116

This mod is an stand alone version of my original X2 Ship Callback Mod. This version will include re-textured X2 models. All ships will use both X3 textures or my own made ones, along with X3:TC's new shader.

I will also being doing minor modelling work on some models to fix or improve them (for example the cockpits on fighters will now be smooth like X3 ones).

All ships will be sold from 5 ship yards located in the sector space of that race. This is the same as the original mod.

A trail effect version will be made one all ships have been updated, this will use my MK 2 traill pack.

This is really nice stuff from you :D

Personally i really miss the speed of the ships from X2. Ofc im happy with the improved shields n weapons but the reduced speed in X3 series is damn annoying. IMO carriers have to be fast to catch up on enemies before deploy fighters against them. Also im missing the docking ports from corvettes. It was always a good thing to aproach a base then swich to a smaller M3 to dock on the base. Was really cool feeling.

Not to mention the shadow effect that is totally missing from X3.

Can i use this package with existing savedgames ?

It would be awesome to resize to their counterparts from X3. X2 M2 looks jokingly dwarfish when compared to M2 from X3. They closer to m7 than destroyers.

That could be something I can do. Ill think about it. Main job at the moment is to do the texture work. #only done argon and i have made more than 20 textures.

What are peoples thoughts on increasing the size of X2 M1/M2 so they fit in the X3 universe better?

Just want to see what other people think before I go ahead and do it.

Update on this mod, I am up to paranid and have done some remodelling to the boron ships to make them more organic, (adding polys, smoothing ect).

Are the ships properly scaled? The only part i hated in X2 was improper scaling. For example, colossus was able to have 120 ships docked, while in reality, anymore than 5 ships would be impossible to fit in...

All ships apart from the capital ships are scaled to X3 sizes, the capital ships are the same size as X2 at the moment, which means they are tiny compared to the X3 ones, and like you said have the wrong scale compared to the window size, ship hanger size ect.

hey there does this replace ship the models of the same names or adds extra ships to the game, something thats always bugged me is not seeing older ship styles around surely there would be older models about still trading etc, not everyone buys new for their first vehicle.

are you going to continue your work or will you cancel this project? Because there are many other mod projects you have and there hasn't been an Update here for a quite long time...

I would like to if I have time, if I do it will be after my next BSG Mod. It all depends on when X-R is out and when I decide to stop modding this game for that one.

This version was a newer one, with many improvements but is unfinished at the moment. Use the other version for the time being unless you justwant to see what has improved.
