Well, I mean't "Godlike" figuratively. It's not like angels will sing and harps will be playing whenever I enter a sector in it. :D

Could the Boreas be put back to it's original stats and made the Argon M2+?

I never liked the Boreas being so strong in Vanilla. It's a small ugly ship, and I think it was supposed to be a 'light' destroyer anyway. Not sure where I read that though...

In any case, it seems better that the bigger badder looking M2's are actually bigger and badder in SRM.

Also, by chance has anyone been able to take a look at this yet? Was hoping someone might be able to say if that weird ship name is SRM related.

This is probably going to be towards the end of next week as I'm currently working on new engine sounds. I realised that all ships of a specific class have the same engine noise - which is so dull. So for the next update, initially the Xenon and Kha'ak ships will be getting new engine sounds (think something along the lines of the Shivan engine noise from Freespace for the Kha'ak).
Good idea to sort out engine sounds.

I wonder, is it possible to make some engine sounds inside the cockpit, not only on external view?

The most likely reason for this is that the srm text file has not loaded for some reason. have you put the srminst.XML in the director folder?

otherwise it could be something added by another mod or script where the t file entry or text is missing.

the easiest way to check is to try and cheat in an srm specific ship. explorer m5s for example. no other mod adds these and if their names are ok then the srm ship text file is ok.

it could also be a station so check that you don't have another mod that adds tdocks or tfactories.

I've already considered that. the engine sounds are generated by the engine effect (I think) so all you need to do is put a dummy engine effect in the cockpit and voila!

Its only an idea at this stage and wont be in the next update, but perhaps in the future...

SRMstats1.05 lists Pirate Marauder (M6) as using 4 x 1 GJ shields.

All other M6's (except a damaged one and 2 placeholders) use 200 MJ shields, anywhere from 1 - 6.

Is this a typo, or does that ship really have that much shielding? I haven't seen any in-game recently or I'd check there.

EDIT: Found in encyclopedia. Shows as using 4 x 200 MJ shields. Guess it's just a typo. :p

hey guys, is it possible to buy the m7 boron megalodon?
i have checked pretty much every shipyard that i know of but cant find it for sale... im also fairly sure i got the mod installed properly since im not getting any "readtext".

Normally after doing proper configuration through the community conf. plugin all xtra ships should be available in their respective shipyards.

Hello guys

What stations can you use to repair, scrap, reverse engineer and build ships at?

Also I believe some of Cadius stations will do it quicker and use less resource than the player HQ, can you tell me if they still do this and which ones.

One thing the Asteroid base Terran Freight dock are these the same as trading stations.

Advanced Heavy Osprey has what looks like 4 engine cowlings, which are surrounding intakes in the front. The front of these intakes glow bright white:

But if viewed at the proper angle with F2, you can see an internal animated intake fan in all 4 of the intakes. You may have to zoom in on this one to see them. If you could animate my screenshot and zoom in even further than this image allows, you'd also see fan blades spinning inside the cowlings:

Is there a way to make these more apparent? I.e., take away or tone down the amount white glow from the intake? Glow should come out the exhaust anyway, but I'm aware some ships, especially Paranid ones, have this white glow on their intakes. Don't understand why... Though you'll probably have to leave at least some glow to illuminate the fans... I'd suggest maybe a faint green glow to match the Teladi exhaust from the exclusive cap ship trails pack.

The ship is all around pretty mean looking, I just think this would be a slight improvement. It's Teladi anyway, so to have the same intake glow as some of the heavier Paranid ships seems odd to begin with. :p

Don't care about the realism of intakes in space in itself. I just imagine it's taking in particles.

just curious, is the longsword mkII in this mod? because i am using a "new start" mod i found on the X-tra ships mod that is supposed to give me a longsword, but i dont get it.

A quick check through the SRM stats spreadsheet (also in PDF format)... linked on page 1 of this thread... shows no listing for any ships named Longsword, with or without a "Mk" designation. I'd imagine that means it's not in the SRM, unfortunately.

It was decided a long time ago that the longsword did not quite fit with the standard Terran look, so I did not include it in the srm.

Ensure that "mod ships" is turned on in the shipyard pack plugin configuration. that should put the megalodon into a selection of boron shipyards.

There are several, including the standard player hq, the Terran hq, orbital shipyards etc. Basically its the same as in the Xtra mod and their rev eng, repair times etc. are also the same as cadius' mod.

I believe these animated fans are added by the scene file so they can be moved around. since I'm altering this ship anyway to add more weapons, ill have a look. I may be able to shift them forward to make them more prominent. Altering the glow is too much effort to be honest.
