I went back to using the SRM and DDTC mods, at least until v2.0 of XTC comes out. Too many crippling bugs, quite a few gameplay choices that make the game (to me, at least) rather boring (tedium != difficulty), and finally it is way too easy to get cash compared to vanilla. I like a challenge, which I don't find in XTC.

Which is quite unfortunate, as there are also quite a few brilliant ideas that were implemented, I was almost salivating when I first read the manual (whoever did that, fantastic job, by the way).

Seriously this game has alot of friggin sadists--i got 12 UT's going atm and i'm still expanding that fleet. My funds barely break 2m as i have to constantly spend and i would need to most likely need to sit with SETA going for a few hours to get enough money to get some stations going.

I've been playing this save for weeks now and have 1d 19h saved with SETA at 1000%--some people want money to be harder???

Hmmm... I see the reason why the OTAS shipyard is so far out... ITS OMFG HUGE if that was placed near closer to the center of the system it would cause traffic problems or worse collision problems as well as being such a large object it would cause fps drops because of the draw speed. We all know what happens when you have several large scale stations close in together... *cough* Vanilla Terran Stations *cough*

There is alot of over dramatic language being used in these complaints. The way some people air there greivences could possibly be acceptable if this was an egosoft project you were paying for but "ITS NOT". lol had to put some angry shouter caps in lol.

The guys who make the mod could have just made it for a select few and added it to there cv's (if there in the industry) but instead they make it for every member of the community.

There are alot of things i find irritating within the mod, some things just a bit of polish for v2 will correct them others yeah its not what im used to but its how they have decided to make the mod. (submit a bug report no an angry wtf have you done post) never the less im enjoying the mod and the features it currently contains.

economy - yes things are available but you can still sell to eq docks for example. never made sence in commonwealth that there were hundreds of plantets and all there economies were basicly broken. terrans would have died out long ago with there lack of protein past lol

as for difficulty / exploration / understanding system layouts remember the tag lines about fight / trade / think? :D

Have to add one of my favorite features is the station layouts !!! i forget which system it was but a terran system that unlocks, i flew into it and was impressed by the sight of a spp xxl surrounded by food factories with a stunning backdrop to boot. great work guys :D

p.s were the **** are the couple of blue book missions people talk about!!!! lol
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

:D we never said anywhere the 1.0 release would be fully finished ;) XTC is a work in progress and I find it somewhat disturbing that some people expect otherwise :?
so like it, hate it - doesn't matter - just deal with it :lol:

on a more serious note:
about missions, before blaming our MD guys, please take a look around on the forums to see how much new MD related stuff is out there and think for a minute ?

vanilla MD files do not run in XTC, every single one has to be adapted through adjusting, correcting or total rewrite ... writing and testing MD stuff is dull, boring and tedious

so instead of complaining about less missions you should be thankfull those guys took it onto themselves to chew through the MD so you have some missions to play at all ;)

I miss my station defense missions :( :lol: then again taxi missions and escort missions are good money makers :D

I'm working on a mod-for-a-mod, and although I'm having trouble getting it in to the game for some odd reason I've already got several starts coded and more penned down! If you want to suggest something, please PM, or if you want to know more.

do you really want to try to defend stations against a couple of M8 coming from 4 different gates in XTC ? ^^

no real idea about it though, sorry :)
not into missions myself - tbh. personally I highly dislike the kind of missions where enemies are spawned just for the player so he can shoot at them - ruins my immersion - and TC is full of those mission designs

Yeah but making it so that it uses enemies that already exist is extremely hard in many ways.

There are some starts commented out in the mod already so hopefully they will be unlocked later on in the updates or v2.0 :)

I'm really curious about the Xenon and Kha'ak start :D

Anyway, who designed Shivan? They're bloody murderous! I spawned one in and flew around the sector toasting everything, then blew up some stations. :o

The top quality firebreath is just a 4km PBG!

I thought about it but was not sure if it would break everything, make my puter explode and then get a visit from the XTC team and get my a$$ kicked for fiddiling around "their" files like a newbie :)

Just a quick question - Does winning the lottery (I won 4Mil+ and an Octopus Vanguard) preclude you from further victories and is the upping of winning chances (0.02%) real or just an immersive addition?

I noticed since I reinstalled the new version teladi TS ships are faster - Would this also suggest that the broken Vanguard Model of the Scimitar is functioning too? (Think these details come from the same file yes?)

All bought lottery tickets have the same chance and there is no precluding ;)

Well, when writing it, I thought, that it would be nice to have winners around instead of the X3R-situation, where nobody ever won. The chances are limited mainly by one ticket/hour, meaning if you buy a lottery ticket every hour, you should win one time in 100 hours
(enough time for having fun while buying the tickets, imo ;) ) .

[EDIT: ] before anyone asks: the chances in the casino are even - this is mainly thought as amusement and not for making money - therefore the 10M credits.
