Post some of the cheats for everyone in the game and tell about some of your war stories.

Started to post about this last night when it first showed up, was going to complain and post a funny no-spam picture. Checked the site first and it did not seem bad, looks like it was just someone who is a fan of the game and spent some time making a website. There is some content there already about the game from one person (probably the op).
That being said, this place (Egosoft Forums) is a sanctuary for many of us, best forum around, tons of information about the games, lots of good people, very good mods, great stories, no disrespectful childishness, no trolls. Really really want it to stay that way.
When we see something like the op's post, a one liner which adds nothing to this great place, contains errors, asks for things that are abundant here, requests cheats and for people to leave here and go there, some of us get a little defensive.
I kept thinking to myself this has to be some kind of rule violation, but since the (broken) link was a X3TC related forum, waited until now to actually post about it.

Scanner shows nothing out of the ordinary.
Visual inspection looks like a fansite. Has some vids too?
Just seems odd being a new member posting the first message like that.

Hey Odin Master, I don't think anyone took offence, - Often there are short posts with links posted that are not game related - I looked at your site and watched a couple of Videos and it is good. - There is nothing wrong with talking about cheats and exploits either- Purists won't use them but others do.
I think what you need to understand is that Egosoft have provided TC enthusiasts with an amazing array of facilities here - And for you to attract people to your fan site you'd need to provide something that compliments this website rather than competes with it.
It may be worthwhile asking the community what they'd like to see on it - BUT I'd visit here frequently, post, get better known, look at the kind of threads that repeat (Ship comparisons, what to do with however many credits, whats the difference between s/m/l ships)
BUT my suggestions would be a list of exploits in TC, perhaps a discussion of the various play styles, maybe even a Vanilla save game exchange- Perhaps create a load of Avatars for people to use here? I don't know - But I'd bide my time and interact with the community a bit - and put the link to your website in your sig (It's not a working link at the minute)-
Oh and read the Forum Rules, just in case you end up taking a route that breaks them unwittingly!
(and it is purely voluntary, but I'd register your game for - BUT this gives you the ability to use tech support forums too and maybe would stop the cries of Spam )
