How do I do a ship delivery mission?
Hello am new to X3 Terran Conflict.
It's early in the game on the Terran side and I chose a mission where I have to deliver a ship to Jupiter. I put on the quest tracking guide and land at the space station but I can see no other ship anywhere, no options to leave my ship or continue the mission.
Any help appreciated. I spent about an hour searching the net for answers and found nothing in an FAQ about how to do ship delivery missions.

You have to buy the ship in question at a Shipyard and then send/dock it to the station that requested the ship.
Ship Delivery missions are under the "Think Missions" section in the FAQ.

That's all well and good, but he's in Terran space, and hence no jumpgates.
And that very fact is why I rarely do the ship delivery missions there. The only ones I've successfully completed, except in very rare cases, are those for the M5 Rapier. Even then I have to give it max engine tunings for it to reach its destination in time.

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

No, only seen the small figthters. Rapiers are so easy - and cheap. You can cruise along with a few M4 and M5, and just drop them off when somebody need one.
Maverick: Requesting permission for flyby.
Air Boss Johnson: That's a negative ghostrider, the pattern is full.
Goose: No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.
Maverick: Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz a Split.
Split: Split now give you .... Aaaarrriiiigh.

A side note in addition to all the good advice above.
Wether a recovery or purchase mission, the following 3 apply:
1 - You can rename the ship your delivering and it will remain that name.
2 - The person asking for the ship, will fly that ship eventually.
3 - If your on a short timer remember that ships have no collision detector when you are OOS, so get out of the sector the delivery ship is docking in, or you might run out of time.
As much as I appreciate finishing a mission, I prefer to deliver fully armed & equipped ships as if I were purchasing for myself. This has proven beneficial, as I delivered 4 total ships to Elysium of Light, which was invaded by a single Kha'ak Cluster, then later by a Kha'ak Corvette, for which 3 of the 4 delivered ships took part in the sector defense. Also, you can suddenly see ships you've delivered in your Sector Menu & it adds to the immersive factor for the game knowing you delivered it.
Also, I once retrieved an abandoned Heavy Centaur, outfitted the ship completely before returning, and a game day later the Pirate who had accepted delivery was flying it & doing Pirate things with it. Naturally, I got paid for disposing of it once the trouble started.
To do these missions, I keep an extra Chokaro on standby with 1 & 5 Mj shields stocked up, along with some IRE's, PAC's, and a few PRG's. I always purchase the ship requested from a station with an adjoining EQ so that I can equip software upon purchase. Then I send the purchased ship to the nearest gate, jump the extra Chokaro to that gate, dock the one with the other & jump both to the delivery point.
Personally, I've only been asked for the following ships:
TS's
TP's
M4's
M5's
Has anyone ever been asked for an M3, or M6 or more ?
