Guys could someone help me a little with this.

I installed the last version, i only have 2 scripts on mu X3TC. Overview Trade 2.0 and this EST.

I have 10 Mercury Freights Super...
I equipped all with trade MK2, MK3 (MK1 is already installed..)
also navigational mk1, trade...

I made all use Sector trade from the default Game. Only after i intalled this script.

The strange thing that happens is some Traders can use EST, and other simple don't have the option enabled... I can't make this Ships use EST.

I was thinking it maybe conflicts with UE/ST but some low lvl ships have the option and other high lvl have the option too. So why some traders don't have the EST avaiable (option is grey, can't select)

If one freighter can't start the EST command, I guess it is in space? If so, let it dock to a station and try again. If it can't be started in space, most likely there is no (compatible?) pilot in the cockpit.

I'm using the steam version of x3: TC (v2.5), EST 3.2.0.5, and the core code library v3.3.0.6 (just released 10/31/2009, and I can't find an older version). I wonder if it's the new core library version causing problems, or some strange steam issue.

Any help would be appreciated, this script is pretty irreplaceable.
You're probably doing the same thing I did. Do not worry, the script it working fine. It's just not very descriptive about what it is doing and is confusing you.

Go select a trader and go to add wares, then select a system and a station as you have been. When it gives you a list of the wares at the station, click on one. It will then bring you to a screen with the ware you clicked on and nothing else. YOU ARE DONE--this screen is actually the current active wares screen. Hit the back button at the top and you will see that it has added the ware to the list. If you, instead, click on the ware at the screen it brought you to, it will assume you mean to replace that ware with something else, giving you the sense of an endless loop. This is probably more obvious once your list is longer than a single entry, but for starting off it's an easy mistake to make.

I reviewed the all posts in the topic and I do not see one thing .... how much can be EST? I am 80. But I think that is the one issue. The game slows down when using the SETA. Stops at 3-5 seconds, sometimes more, and running away. And so from time to time. I did not know what it is. I started a new game - SETA works well. So there are no errors in scripts. (I have a little bit.) I turned off 20 EST - the game works rather well.

Please forgive me my English.

Major Dealer still requires full list ?

Post by boran_blok »

I had hoped that by the time my traders reach major dealer I would not need to setup a full list of items, apparently this is not the case, because the trader complains about not knowing which wares to sell, is there an easy way to say, trad in everyting (legal) ?

Use trade command software mk3 and enable it for the EST.

Is this the only effect of the Mk3 software or are there other side effects ?

With MK3 activated, it uses the standard search routine which is less precise but more performant that the EST own one.
With no wares on the warelist, a mk3-enabled EST will act as a normal EST and look for its wares by itself.

If you set wares on the warelist of a mk3-enabled EST it will try to serve factorys for that wares with ressources.

My EST pilot bailed -- really! How can I put him back to work?

Post by akeelah »

I didn't think it was possible, but it happened.

I'm flying around doing whatever it was I was doing when Betty informs me that one of my ships is under attack. I jump into the designated sector to find a few pirates giving one of my EST freighters the business. As it turns out, I'm too late and my freighter is destroyed. But now, there's a space suit floating around. I dispatch the pirate fighters and go to investigate the space suit.

It's Major Dealer Iaron Gilharno! Huh? I didn't know EST pilots could bail. I'm not using any of the NPC bailing scripts. I pick him up, and now he's in my cargo hold.

Screenie

Do EST pilots regularly bail when attacked, or it this some freak accident? :? Is there any way to transfer him to another freighter and put him back to work? He's already fully trained, and I hate to see him go to waste.

In higher ranks, yes they do. So you can give them a new ship to work again. Look out for Lucikes personnel transporter.

Hi, hopefully someone will be able to answer this simple question, i have done a lot of searching but haven't found the answer so far.

After a trader advances in rank and later i add another ware or two to his trade list, do i need to select the "Start EST" option again? or will he just automagically start trading that ware.

Many thanks,
Intrinsic

He should trade with new added products (or use other settings in general) whithin his next trade run/cycle. No need to restart your EST.

Not sure if anyone has posted this but for latest scripts by Lucike you can get them from the BurnIt script collection (Date) Zip format available here....

http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... 7rt4NjhxIA

In the zip you will find zips for each set of scripts, but named in German.

Befehlsbibliothek = Libraries required by all scripts (Currently v3406)
Wirtschaftshaendler = ESD (Currently v3209)
Handelsvertretung = CAG (Currently v3300)

I appreciate you are trying to do a translation here for UK users and that there will be a time lag catching up with the latest. But for anyone wanting the latest bug fixes, thats where I get them.

Any others you want out of that collection, when you extract the Kollection the individual zips are sometimes obvious (Dockwarenmanager for instance, or Prospektor 'theres gold in tham thar hills'), but they all also have the version number in the title, just match it with the one on the translated link above. (Sometimes we get unlucky in that two of them will have a similar version - so type the name in google translate)

The scripts will run in your game, no need for any translation/localisation in that regard, just copy script/t/etc to the usual places.

If you know the url of any German posting, just copy it out of your address bar into the Google translate box here
http://translate.google.co.uk/?hl=en#
choose German to english and hit translate... for instance the ESD german topic url translated gives this...

Hello alt3rni1ty.

Most of Lucike's scripts already got an English topic. And if a script got one, it's linked from the German topic ... just *click* the English flag in the German topic then.
So normally no need for an google-translation.

Lucike's script collection (not BurnIt's, thats just a google translation error ^^) also normally never will be more recent than the "single" script releases (at least for the German topics, English ones depend on the English supporter), as there is only a script collection release after a bunch of single releases.
As there is always the English topic directly linked from the German topic, the other way should be the case too. (Again, depending on the English supporter, but I remember no topic which wouldn't be linked to the German one).
So you should get your latests scripts there too without the need to search inside the German filenames.

A few times there have been script updates in the collection which weren't released "standalone". But that only were "minor" changes, like internal adaptions for the bonus pack or something like that.

Sometimes I thought about to start an English topic for the collection, but as it's only a link collection, I think it would "vanish" in the depth of the S&M English board, as I think there would only be few discussion in there.

edit:
... just found that old posting and liked to add, that I opened a English topic for the collection in the meantime:

--> [SCR/IDX] Lucikes Script Collection for X³: Terran Conflict

:) I just knew there would be someone along with a more informed idea of this :P

Thanks Saetan, well at least the google translator will help people out in odd situations. I like the collection though because sometimes I miss updates to single additions, this board moves quite quickly occasionally, and the majority of Lucikes scripts are mostly essential installs for me.

Interesting problems on OS X

Post by gotnostyle »

Hello

I'm a Mac user who's downloaded EST and gotten it to work. Installing wasn't a huge hassle, but was a little different than prescribed. I encounter a couple interesting bugs that sort of break the game when using EST.

My cursory bug review:
When docking, I no longer get the little green "position lights". After docking, text all seem to be displaying incorrectly. All text in the game gets replaced with something including "readtext"

If you're interested in solving this, I'd be delighted to help you isolate the problem.

I was amazed that the package actually got my ships to start working on their own, given the operating system disparity, but the broken text is a problem.

Thanks!

edit: this seems like it may only happen when auto-naming is turned on. Sorry if this is old news!

edit again: It happened again without auto-naming, when enemies appeared in the sector. The alarm sounded and all the text went to crap.
When this happens it also precludes the game from saving.

Here's a screenshot.
