glad to see your up to your old tricks again cycrow, heres to hoping it goes well, any idea if a 64bit vista would cause trouble with the PML?

well, considering its being made and tested on 64bit vista, i would say it should work ok ;)

Yup nice !
It was my first guess the (x86) in the path of the directory conflicting with the (version of X3).
Bug hunt in progress :P

Actually to install .spk i use manually spktool while waiting for the B4.

Beta 4 has now been uploaded.

this contains serveral fixes and improvements.

the main fixes/additions:
  • Fixed game directories with brackets in
  • Built in EMP mod
  • Added Plugin Manager scripts for both TC and X3

Will try it now, hopefully i can get the angelwing installed. the other plugin manager didn't like it

Built in EMP ? What happens for people who dont use it ?

Emp is automatically generated so it should be a problem

If its already installed or using a mod with it built in the plugging manager won't add it

What about a mod that either doesnt need it, or is using the same file for some other purpose ?

if a fake patch has its own wares file, then it will be used as the base for EMP, so emp will simply be added onto that file if theres room.

if you using a mod, then that mods ware file will take priority

the EMP from the plugin manager will never overright existing ware entries so it shuldn't effect any mods that are used

finally tried out this 'Lite" version and uninstalled shortly after. this is some of my first impressions:

1. no option when installing for the first time for a desktop short cut icon?

2. html tag filtering no longer working? as seen here by the circled item:

3. Bug:
example: when i attempted to install your wing hotkeys.spk. i received a message stating "packaged for wrong game: wing hotkeys requires: x3 reunion" even thou when i open the .spk in packager it is set for X3 TC

example: when i attempted to install your cheat.spk i recieved the same error but this time after clicking on ok caused manager to crash.

4. small request the item i have circled is one item that takes up two lines. can you have the second line idented to reflect only 1 item is enabled?

html forming is not being stripped before it should work and display with the correct formatting, so ill have to check the actual display

this might be difficult, as thats just a single long string, and its .NET thats actually doing the wrapping

the text is basically added to a MessageBox, and its .NET that handles how its displayed.

i can look at splitting it manually at some point, but that will have to wait

How close are you to Beta 5? I'm chomping at the bit to play but am still waiting on the 2.5 release. I'm also playing on Steam so might have to wait a bit longer. Also running Windows 7 at the moment so I can test on that if you don't have anyone running it.

Regardless of the 2.5 release date I can still do a bit of testing with B5 and Win7 if you like.

Beta 5 should be soon.

also, beta 5 will be the last major beta, as of B5 all features for the final release will be in

then possible 1 more beta after that to fix anything that might not be working

I'll start by saying big thanks to Cycrow for all this hard work, it's nice to have a place to turn to when the game is frustrating the hell out of you. Upon advice in another thread I will post here. I am running XP

Hello,

I am new to the X genre and am enjoying it. Had some problems flying Final Fury in a fighter and decided to try my first script installation. After much research I was able to get the reset shields and hull.xml script running. During this time I also installed the Plugin Manager Lite V1.00 beta 4 and enabled the options there. Immediately I noticed a big problem with station menus, with the exception of shield and weapon descriptions everything is blank and most are priced at 28 credits. Assuming a simple script removal would fix this I carried on fighting and installing more scripts over the last couple days. However this problem really bothers me now and I can't seem to fix it. I've deleted the two .xml scripts I added for the reset hull and shields script (however the hotkey is still available in the interface menu) I've disabled the plugin manager options and also uninstalled it, all to no avail. I have saved and reloaded after every change but I am stumped as to restoring these menu's I have looked in several places but see no mention of this bug elsewhere. Can anyone out there offer a solution? TIA

EDIT: I am also missing a few menu descriptions such as Jumpdrive and Best buys/selling locators

I've been having problems with the plugin manager:

I've purged out my script, t, plugin manger directory, verified my files with steam then uninstalled the plugin manager. I reinstalled, opened the manager, then simply set the game to modified mode and closed. It created the 09.cat/dat files and caused the problem above.


I suspect its something weird on my end. Any thoughts?

By removing my .dat and .cat files i was able to fix the menu problem. I temporarily moved the 09's that a renamed myself for the emp mod as well as the 10's which were recently created by one of the recent scripts I installed, not sure which. Just FYI hope it helps some.

the plugin manager creates its own mod files, usually it'll be the highest ones, unless u try to install them manually.

also, it has emp built in, so u dont need to have that as well


the problem is most likly a problem generating the wares files

just an observation as i've been troubleshooting mod/script conflicts:

everytime the X Plugin Manager is opened & closed with/without modifying installed mods/scripts the resulting dat file it creates is 3-8KB larger than it was previously
