Just don't install trading system extension - that way they don't level, so they don't get paid (although they also don't use jump drives or handle many wares).is there a dronish wage-free version of the CLS? I don't want a living, breathing, money-sapping pilot to ferry my cargo between places - I just want a big, stupid Best buy/sell mod to be a cargo drone for my factories.

I tried this - and it worked, but it disabled all the default navigation options for all my ships - only navigation options I get now are "Jump to me' and "Jump to Homebase".richo885uk wrote:EDIT2: And easier way than this whole issue...if you go to "X3 The Reunion", right click "show package contents", then contents>resources, show package contents on the next X3 The Reunion icon that appears in that folder, then contents>resources>transgaming>c_drive>x3 it seems to be all the windows files for the game. If I choose this folder as the destination for the bonus installation, it installs fine =)
I'm thinking maybe I don't have the latest patches or something and may now have to go back to vanilla game with the latest patches. However, naturally I didn't save it all before I changed it (well done me) and I don't want to lose my saved games.
Do you have any idea where the save game files are on Mac so at least I can copy them out? Or are there any other patches I should have applied first, and if so, how do I apply them (I never thought it would be this difficult to play a game on Mac - bugger!).

Try "Your Username/Library/Application Support/X3" (or something like that). I don't have X3 for the Mac installed, but I do have X2 installed. Since they were both ported by the same company, I expect the savegames are in similar locations.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

You should probably ask the people who did the linux port.

I'm pretty sure the linux port wasn't available at the time of the bonus pack release. Not so sure about the Mac port. If neither port had been completed at the time the pack was released, there would have been no need to release it in any form that something other than Windows could handle.username-1 wrote:Still, when publishing scripts/mods, people need to keep in mind to use readable archives.
However, that aside, Egosoft have written, and support, a game for Windows. They are under no obligation to make any offering available for other platforms - that's up to the developers of the other ports.

It is always better to use a format that is readable rather than something proprietary.eladan wrote:I'm pretty sure the linux port wasn't available at the time of the bonus pack release. Since the sources are not available and Egosoft had to allow LGP to make a port --- and probably helped them since LGP probably didn't start from scratch --- Egosoft has already assumed some responsibility. How comes they are now saying they don't want to have to do anything with it?However, that aside, Egosoft have written, and support, a game for Windows. Have they allowed, or would they allow LGP to set up their own forum for the Linux version of the game? If yes, I'll send LGP a mail suggesting to set up their own forum --- they could use it for the other games they publish as well.
