I think the intention is to mention this in your thread, rather than here along submission (that is bound to be hidden).

I have a question on the categories.

Most categories are defined by what the script does. (combat, navigation, etc.)

AL PLugins however, are sorted by a technical matter only, regardless of them adding any "artificial life" to the universe or not.

At least half the scripts listed as "AL Plugin" have differing main themes, affecting AI ships little or not at all.

Maybe the category should be renamed to "AL Plugin / Other" ?

People are sticky-blind. Too many stickies and front page would be blank. ;)

There is a link (actually two) from TC Download Library Announcement OP to this thread. With this separate, the end users do not have to look at the submission entry formatting rules, so the TC Download Library remains (relatively) neat and tidy (and can be elongated with more posts, for example if the message size limits hit us).

+Occasionally the game may show "ReadTextN-M" where you expect a message or name. The N and M are numbers. The reason is that the game has not found the correct string. Thus, a textfile may be missing or corrupted. The N is the Text Page ID, where Text ID M was supposed to exist.
+
+Look at the N in the error first. If it is in the range 7000-9999, the Text File ID N is hopefully below. If the N is 17, then the M may be listed in the next post.

Gazz is right about "AL Plugins" not being a proper category, unless it is about "A. Life". For now, did a split in two, separating obvious "Life" from mere scripts with "On/Off" toggle. Howl, if they ain't so.

Resource-Free Factory got added into the tc cheats, where similar "Resource-Free SPP" is already. Used resources are naturally listed in the Library.

AMS Mod is now updated to v2

Should we be noting this on the mods listed in the sticky so people can see at a glance ?

Added a note for the two mods that I noticed to claim 2-something. This is mainly a mod-"problem", right?

Yes, mainly a mod problem.

The v2 patch changes quite a few types files.

So any mod that uses ships, cockpits, missiles, docks, factories, twaret, plus some of the not often used files, needs to be updated. Also start.xml and gamestarts.xml were also changed, so any new gamestart needs to be updated.

1.4 patch touched very little that would bother mods, but the v2 patch is much more extensive.

I feel it would be a good idea to tag all the mods in the list with v1.4 until such time as the author advises they have been upgraded to v2.

The only scripts that would need upgrading are the ones using modified versions of signed scripts, and they would need to be checked to see if they got replaced or not by the patch. There are not a lot of those, and the authors should know if they need to check on this or not.

I should have thought of that, but then again, it was before the full morning coffee dosage.

Just curious. This same script in X3R was never listed as a cheat and is still in the X3R Community List. So the rules are different now? The determination seems arbitrary.

I dont know why, but there seemed to be a change of emphasis with TC, in building the new forum areas, with obvious cheats being given a special thread of their own.

It obviously wouldnt be worth the effort to go back and separate out the R stuff in the same way.

I suspect it was something to do with Cycrow doing the main cheats this time, where LV did the original R ones.

But thats just a guess.
