One could argue that getting 30 million from ANY mission is an exploit as it makes the game unnecessarily easy (take capping using Marines, for instance: that is seriously an exploit, was just reading about some guy selling a cap for 77 million!!).
I'm more concerned with the apparent abandonment of all parts of the game other than the fighting route - the fact that the new stuff will only be available to the people who like and do fighting and that as far as I can see, the only nod to the peaceful players is getting the UTs working again.

Have you ever actually tried capturing stuff with marines? Believe me, it is anything BUT easy, and the price of entry is not exactly cheap either--a fully trained squad of 5 marines will set you back around 7 million credits, not to mention the time and micromanagement it takes to train them to that level. Add to that the M6 or M7M you need to make best use of said marines and you're looking at a starting bill of over 20 million credits (plus RSI in your mouse click finger from putting them through training) just to get started down the capture route!mad_axeman wrote:One could argue that getting 30 million from ANY mission is an exploit as it makes the game unnecessarily easy (take capping using Marines, for instance: that is seriously an exploit, was just reading about some guy selling a cap for 77 million!!).

all that said and true, 1 cap still shouldnt pay off your entire investment in capping, cos then after that its 100% profit.. lolpjknibbs wrote:Have you ever actually tried capturing stuff with marines? i capped a 3 TLs with just my centuar, n sold them all for quite alot more than my centuar cost, and marines cost to train. was only about 30 minutes work too.. lol
this said, i do like capping with marines, its more exciting

I'm sure you'd get crazy profit margins if you spent 20m on a fleet of UTs or a weed/booze complex too. I don't think it's particularly unbalanced but you always have the option of abstaining from the game feature if you dislike it so vehemently.cale_online wrote:all that said and true, 1 cap still shouldnt pay off your entire investment in capping, cos then after that its 100% profit..pjknibbs wrote:Have you ever actually tried capturing stuff with marines? strikes me that if you spend an equivilent amount of time on building complexes for profit instead of training marines, you'll make far more credits, repeatedly, with far less effort!
the X-Universe is particularly good because you DON'T have to do the same things repeatedly all through the game, you can chop and change to make things more interesting... and even someone who has no dog fighting skills at all can fly a M2 sucessfully!

When do we get to see a complete set of patch notes? I'm sure there has been more done to the game than just the new Aldrin related fluff.

I have the steam version of TC but don't like waiting the additional week for updates. So, I just purchased the US boxed version of Terran Conflict 2.0: Aldrin Missions. Ships in 24 hours...

I seem to recall some retailers not abiding by the official release date and shipping the original Terran Conflict early, too.
