Can the EST buy upgrade
Only engine tunings and rudder optimisations.
Loner87 wrote:One technical question now. This is the first time I install a script for an X game. I first unrared the files like it's described in the main post. But finally I have discovered the X Plugin Manager and I want him to manage this script. Problem : there are many .pck files contained in the .rar. So is it feasible ?
The EST isn't compatible with the X Plugin Manager. I search a user, who can make the spks.

Auto exclude sector script?

Post by loxen »

I gave a look through and did not see anything like I was looking for so I thought I would ask around. ATM I am using CAG and EST. It is starting to become a pain whenever I wanna exclude bad sectors from their traiding zone.

Is there a script that would add enemy and unknown sectors or a script that would allow me to add sectors and then apply the list to a ship or wing?

AFAIK, the CAG and EST have very elaborate configuration options. If usage of script becomes painful, feedback is expected to be given in the thread of the script (that is a Forum Rule).

Anyway, a script may or may not have a list of sectors to avoid. If it does, that list is stored in a variable. Nothing ensures that scripts from different authors would use the same variable in the same way for same purpose. Nothing ensures that scripts use any variable. Therefore, a generic solution is quite impossible, unless you enforce uniform coding standards to every scripter.

So we are back to the fact that if you want to see specific script improved, then you have to give feedback to the author of that script.

Merged to one of the mentioned "appropriate" threads.

Uhm I'm having a small problem. I bought 10 Mistrals and equipped all of them equally with Trade Command Software Mk1, 2 and 3. Also navigation Command Mk1 and Fighter Command Mk 1 and 2 amongst others.

All of them are new. I couldn't start up with EST from scratch sicne I didn't have the tradking rank for it. So I thought I'd put all my Mistrals at ST duties in Home of Light, so they gain that rank for me; it worked well, before I could tell the 8th the order to ST I already ws Trader, therefore I set the 8th, 9th and 10th to EST which they did. But the ones that alreadys tarted trading as Secotr Traders had the option in grey. I made them stop, even drop their cargo, but nothing happened. DO I need to "fire" the pilot somehow? How do I do that? Is there any other solution to this?

Thanks a lot.

[EDIT] Okay! Problem solved, just had to read a bit further and I'd have encountered the solution :P Just have to redock the former ST into a station and then give the order to start the EST again.

What am I doing wrong ??? I can only get this to work with one ware, Is this right or am I doing something wrong. I click on wares and it goes to the sector then the station then offers me the wares available but after adding one there is no way of adding more , If I try it cancels the original one ????

I want to use EST for the first time and have two questions.

1.) What if Egosoft releases a new patch 1.5? will I have to restart the entire game from scratch or can I keep playing my career?

2.) According to the download on the first page the latest version of EST is 301? Is this the latest version then?

Thanks.

Thank you for the script, it makes my trading life happy.

One question: Are the traders supposed to self-repair when I receive the message about the pilot docking for repairs? It was my understanding that 'Major Dealers' would keep their ships in good repair but every time an ETS trader has taken damage he goes to a ship yard and then goes idle. ETS doesn't start up again until I manually repair the ship myself.

Is this normal behavior and I've perhaps misunderstood the script?

they dock and wait for you to foot the bill (autorepair is imho not planned, because it could unbalance player account in a beginning game)

Well I've been trying EST for two days now and all I can say is yahoo!. You outprogrammed the best of the best at Egosoft with this script. It earns maybe ten to twenty times as much revenue.

P.S. as for self repair why not have it go to a shipyard and a message will come up in the message list incoming message "ship repair cost=$_____.00 do you wish to proceed (Y/N?)"

Its just an idea.

Thanks alot for the EST scipt wolverine.

I've just started the game and have installed the EST mod. I have set my only Mercury up with the necessary systems (Flight Control, Trade System Mk1, Mk2, etc) and started the EST with 'ore' selected as the ware.

Now, he he buys some ore alright from 'Ore Belt' and usually takes it to Red Light or somewhere and sells it off. Then he sits in standby for what seems like forever.

I've tried changing the ware to 'Cahoona Meat' (or however it's spelt) with the same results.

Just wanted to confirm this is normal behaviour? Is he perhaps waiting for stock levels to rise / prices to come down?

I thought I wrote this post at first. I'm having the exact same issue. Can anyone expand? I don't have the Trade Mk III upgrade installed on the ship. Could that be a problem?

Okay I've put the scripts where they need to be, but the game says that EST language file doesn't exist. I am using version 1.4 of TC is that the problem or am I just missing something?

The trader dont find something in the moment, or you have no money
Cause he uses your money for trading

I have about 70k, which is more money than I had when he made the first trade. What's a good sector to start in? I tried Ore Belt and Home of Light. My ship might have something to do with it. It's a Dolphin.

Okay I got it working now but i bring up the list and ware list is not on there. Does my pilot need to be a higher level in order to get it?

I've been trying to look at what I might be missing I don't see what I'm missing if I am in game. I've put all the scripting stuff I don't know what is going on.

two options:

- fill in the ware list yourself (one ware for trader-starters, more, when levelled)
- install Mk3

third option

- read the manual...plz

Installing Mk3 does the trick. Set it and forget it, pretty much.
