I'm gonna guess that the Xenon and Khaak are going to have m0s, but one hopes the flight AI is improved to deal with large objects because otherwise eeeuugh. I think it will have been though, given the immense size of the Terran stations. Not to forget the XTM shipyards or the military station shown in the blog.

There are framerate numbers shown in some screenshots, some of them are below 30 fps.pgllrdp wrote:new screenies at steam website http://store.steampowered.com/app/2820/

But the graphic is superb as always.

Yes, the #8 looks like a "better Hub", but knowing current gerbils, I do not want to be near it during traffic hours.

Within the game, M0's refer strictly to the Kha'ak and Xenon's respective geocidal cruisers. But much of the modding community uses them to describe any uncharacteristically large or powerful capital-class ships with capabilities outside of its class:Cycrow wrote:but as has been said before, M0's are planet killers, and would be useless for a player to own as they wouldn't be able to do much with them
- Super-M1's with ship-building facilities
- M2 class ships with extreme direct-fire capabilities
- M1+M2 hybrids with the fighter/corvette hanger of the former as well as the direct firepower of the latter
- etc.
I think those are what most people are referring to when they request M0 class ships within an X-game. I would like to see them in Terran Conflict, as well (by Egosoft's own implementation or third-party modification).
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

see what i think m0's should b are gigantic, heavily armed and shielded slow behemoths that are capable of laying waste to sectors by themselves. with some fighter docking capacity
So i was waiting in Herrons Nebula with SETA, waiting to sell the last load of space fuel, when a khaak fleet jumped in and destroyed everything.

that maybe how they think an M0 should be, but they are wrong. Its now how they have been defined in the game. So if egosoft add M0's, they will stay consistent with how M0's have been in the past, which means a planet killer.KloHunt3r wrote:I think those are what most people are referring to when they request M0 class ships within an X-game. personally, i think adding bigger ships is pointless, as it will just be never ending. You add a ships bigger than an m1/m2, then players start asking for an even bigger ship. So you add an even bigger ship, so players now want an even bigger ship, etc
i also dont believe they should have an m1+m2 hybrid, what would be the point, it would make both the m1 and m2 obsolete. So instead of adding an extra class of ship, your actually reducing the number of classes available.
if bigger ships are ever added, then i think they should be things like Argon One, a special race flag ship, rather than another large player owned ship

The main restriction on ship sizes are gates.
Until gateless jumping is used more only some width can change, not too much (things get squished as it is), and length. Collision detection would be fun on something longer than a Teladi TL.
Maybe a rebrand of ship types. Though that won't happen this lifecycle. Maybe if we do a jump in story a few hundred years.
Edit: Hey, new blog entry. This time for sound, very interesting
Edit 2: Gah! Dang you! Now I have that trailer music stuck in my head again. And now it's stuck in my playlist. Gah!!
Knew there was something familiar about it in a way, if I'm not mistaken theres a touch of BTF in there
Edit 3: Gah!

I want a devastator class warship that can hold 1000 m3 fighters and is the size of the player headquarters. with the firepower of 14 terran tyrs.Aro wrote:The main restriction on ship sizes are gates.

Yeah, listening to the teaser music now for probably the fiftieth time, including watching the teaser all those times just for the music.Al wrote:If folks haven't noticed there is a new entry on the blog.
X could use some more guitar/orch/techno fusion like that, Reunion's battle music is getting tiresome. Doesn't seem to fit.

Sweet!
The latest blog post is about the development of the awesome teaser music (with the ability to download it makes me a happy moocow!) and TC's music in general. I was right... it was you Johnny who also loved the teaser music.
Judging by the file name of the teaser music (08512.mp3) and the file format for the X3 Reunion music (also 0XXXX.mp3), would it be a bad jump in logic to say the teaser music may feature in X3:TC? I surely hope it is in as combat music!
Keep up the good work chaps!
