A script - to assist a script?

Having recently started using the awsome as.guard_v111 script... :D
...I am wondering if it is possible to create a script which would allow for a TS to have a homebase as a SPP and several targets (destinations) of say a few M6 ships (using the Guard script). If the TS was equiped with a transporter device and a jump drive - then surely the freighter would leave the SPP bound for its target (whichever M6 needed the ecells the most)....use the jumpdrive to reach the M6...transport the ecells.....Then jump drive back to the SPP? :gruebel:

The closest i have found is the Remote Transporter script but this does not use a jump drive unless told to do so from the player - and requires 2 TS ships as it is designed to transport wares from one ship to another...I have also found it requires constant attention. :cry:

If anybody knows of a similar script please let me know!!

hmmm. Perhaps the Commodity Logistics script from the bonus pack? I have a TS Supplying my TL with E-cells automatically using this.

I assume that your TS docks with your TL - whereas a TS cant dock with an M6, M5 M4 or M3

...but just out of curiosity - how were you able to set it up?

such a resupply script should be fairly easy to create.

all you would need is a method to select what ships to resupply, then start the command.

all the script needs to do find the ship with low ecells and command the jumpdrive to jump there.

anyone with basic scripting knowledge should be able to create it

This Should explain how to setup a TS to supply your TL. Using products from your stations.

There is also this script. Which may not be what you looking for, but it has features I think you may be interested in. Scroll down the thread till you find the "buyraregoods" script. Or if you cant find it, here is what it does.

With this script your ship can buy for you any ware you don't want to look for, especially: weapons, shields, drones, satellites. No more endless flying from sector to sector and checking equipment stations and factories.
Just give your ship an order, specify ware and wanted amount, and after a while your humble servant will bring goods to you, well, to be exact, to its homebase, or if it has not any, to one of your factories. After that you will receive message describing finished task and station the ship is docking at. If order can not be finished (no enough ware on market), you will receive proper message (with "docked at" station of course), and ship will wait until ware will be available, and then will continue. For jumpdrive
ship will buy energy by itself.

I haven't used it or read through any attached readme but I came across this description and remembered reading your post.

I tried to follow the MSCI readme to learn how to use the script editor - but found that it stopped half way through a sentance while explaining how to make a simple trading script!!! ...So i tried playing around a bit to complete the script (not really knowing what i was doing). When i ran it - my computer simply crashed and burnt. Now re-installing the game! :evil: (soooo glad i made a backup copy of my save games!)

Iv just about given up trying to write a script :cry:

Iv crashed the game several times (since im new to scripting)

All iv really managed to do is create a simple script which commands a TS to dock with a SPP. After that it just breaks down. :headbang:

One solution I have found though (as a work around) is to put an SPP where the guards patrol from. As long as the afore-mentioned M6s have an M5 attached to them - the M5 will pick up ecells and deliver them to the M6 as required. (...And the SPPs can sell ecells making a tidy amount of credits at the same time! :idea: )
