For whomever is responsible for these ships, outstanding work. The only thing I'm hoping someone has a fix for is the viper vII. All i see is the engines. All the other ships work just fine. Valkyrie only has side functional guns but that's fine. Finding a functional viper VII woudl be thet ticket.

hi, sorry for the slow reply, I've been away from home the past few days, if V2.12 is the most recent for the plugin manager, then I do have the most recent version.

I do have XTM installed, and I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the plugin, they install/uninstall with no error messages, but I am still unable to disable the plugin without getting an error message and the semi-invisible galactica remains the same.

as a side note, when this occurs, the "invisble" parts of the ship are not solid (can be flown through without collission) but the launch bays/turrets/landing bays are all solid and cause a crash if you fly into them.

strange stuff :? P.S. the pegasus seems to work fine for me

Hey folks. I'm a bit swamped with uni just now, so might be a few days before I can look at the Galactica again. I'll send Cycrow a PM and see if he recognizes the problem with the plugin manager.

Cycrow suggested the problems with galactica not showing up are likely due to a bad install. He said don't uninstall, install it over the bad install. It should work.

If you can/can't get it to work, please post again :)

Hey again lostami - do you mean the weapon effects? I haven't seen any about, but COTG will have some ;)

well looks are good, but I mean some that work like the ones from the show, range, rounds per minute, speed the round travels, etc!


Mostly I am finding that A/B/G-PPC has the range but not the the round speed to defend from fighters, and the A/B-PAC has the round speed but not the range, and the A/B-HEPT round speed is to slow and the range is still lacking for a large ships fighter defence!

On the show I noticed a good balance with round speed and range!

I need a B-PAC type weapon with a range of like 7Km, And a weapon like the G-PPC with a faster round speed and a little lower rate of fire with more damage per round that with a range of about 10Km!

Iostami,

The current guns she has are the closest thing there is to the ones in the show. The model for the guns is the model designed by Coxxon and modded by me to actually work. They use the Heavy Weapon from XTM which is the nearest thing there is in X3 to the effect of the guns in the show. I wanted her to be as real as possible to the show as well. As for the rate of fire etc thats a whole different ballgame. Just getting the guns to work is hard enough. As you can see from the other threads in this post there are problems with the lasers on the turrets. This could be caused by anything which is something that is eluding us atm.

Everyone - Sorry just moved house and they screwed up the phone and internet connections had nothing for nearly 2 weeks. Had withdrawl symptoms from the net lol.

Apollo - Dont have to tell me about Uni Commitments man Im totally understanding of this as you are aware. Our guys here just installed 2008 so doubt they would install 2009 until next year at least lol. Just remember though if you get it that it aint backwards compatible and if you do your stuff in 2009 and they run 2008 it wont open for em. PS check yer PM's.

I don't think they've upgraded to '09 yet, but I think they're rolling out new software. Just noticed today they've installed rhino 3d and CS3.
Backwards compatibility is really annoying! I suppose the .fbx format makes up for that a bit, but it still has issues.

Are people still having problems with the galactica XSP?

Max 2009 also has Collada support which is great as alot of 3d programs are starting to use it now. Poser to Max is a real pain.
Havent touched Rhino in years and I mean since 98.

Ok, an update to my experience using the bsg ships. I'm using vista 64bit with steam. I've installed x3, the bonus pack, 1.4 cheat scripts and xtended.

I was originally unable to get the viper 7 to show up. I ended up copying the installation out of the steam folder, then installing the 1.0 to 2.5 patch. I then reinstalled all the other mods and scripts. Boom, all chips show up.

It seems that the galactica has half the guns that work, which is fine, it's pretty much unbeatable in any battle i've been in. The pegasis seems to only have half the guns working. Is there a fix for this? I leave it to the masters of ship building to let me know if it's possible to fix this. The volkerie seems to have a similar issue with guns not working. Thanks guys, the ships are awesome.

I still can't see the ship's hull and have only the right-sided guns working on the big turrets.

I tried reinstalling the xsp again, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc.

I am using the STEAM version too.

Same here and also using steam.

and most of the volkeries guns don't work at all. front, top, bottom, but the sides work

All the ships except pegasys will doc to Headquarters space station. It's just a bit massive. How difficult is it to adjust the docking point? I believe it just needs to be backed up a smidge.

Just out of interest I take it you were on board?

I wonder what would happen if you sent it while out of system?


The Valkyrie was a Beta if I remember correctly and was in the process of been developed.
Don't think Hawkbs was able to complete her last year due to work commitments.

ooh ok.

BTW I found a good defence gun for the battlestars!

concussion impulse generator very nice 72 RPM and good round speed!
but it lacks massively in the damage.

If the muzzle flash and sound was the same as the a/b-flack and the effect the same as the HEPT only red not green and the damage was upped to that of a A/B/G-PPC, then it'd look and feel just like the main guns on the show i'm going to work on that myself to use in game!

Any of you ship builders still around? I'm looking at trying to resolve the top and bottom gun issues on the pegasus and need some help. I noticed the way the turrets turn is not correct. Seems to be on a wrong axis. I need to know what I have to do to fix it.

After some playing. I figured out that the guns do work, but the camera axis is off. When the guns go right to left, the camera rotates.
